So you're implying the sole purpose of SRPs is to work around the technerf and get unusual tech combos.

It was different any time before? I can't recall. Show me someone actively using some SRP like ability to demand people's underwear and engage on refusal and we'll talk.

Actually, when it's for say, an LN Osiris or Hacker Ranseur, or something like that

...yes. Pretty much the only reason for it.

4.85 is good option for fun on the server, but it's not about RP quality, like stolen Outcast Corvos and Nephilims. SRPs are fine as it is now.

4.85 and manhunt was okay. Every now and then I could see something bizarre, but that was about it. The gain was that there was a lot of forum roleplay for people to get the toys that they want. Right now I personally don't feel stimulated to do so, considering the fact that with and without said forum RP_RP I'd still get the same nerf. What I'd suggest is possibly scrapping the ID tech nerf and perhaps only keeping the ship/guns tech chart. That way the stuff that the dev team considers too overpowered can still be banned.

I am for more freedom by making different gun/ship combos. However there should be some oorp consequences of the RP actions.
Lets say a command that drains 250m credits from the user of the oorp combo and removes the tech nerf in return while locking the renameme command.
If the faction/someone wants the owner dead then he kills him or pay to the mercs to kill him posting in special admin controlled bounty board.
Once per month the said 250 mill should be send to the killers as reward and bounty board should be paid. When the money are out of the killed command account the tech nerf is back to normal.
I know that this creates some work for mods and admins but it is the only viable solution that allows people to RP. Also I doubt that so many would fly with "hot" ship like that.

To me, SRPs always seemed to be some kind of reward for people's roleplay. Someone who invested a lot of time into a character, probably didn't used said time in conn instead. Therefore most (accepted) requests aren't about people who were keen on getting "unusual tech combos" in order to have an technical advantage over others (in pews).

As for the poll; there are two sorts of Disco players. And SRPs were made to satisfy the one sort which suffered from the other. With a price.

Nonetheless, I liked the old system. The new one is okay, too.

You know, I understand that srp is meant to be like a "reward" for an exceptional rp, but I fail to see why unique ships ( necro excluded ) should be limited to those only. In my view, if people claiming that its all about "rp" than I would really like them to confess that the ships have little to do with it. Please open all of them, apart from the crappy battlestar transport and the necro.

Were fools to make war on our brothers in arms.
