If half of your characters are devout christians, then YOU are the one who is putting religion into Disco. You can't tell someone else to keep religion out of Disco, because it conflicts with the religions of your characters. You just gave us a classic example of hypocrisy, Vape. Don't let the rejection of your religious faction proposal cause you to cast aspersions on others'.

Ok xoria, when i posted that i didnt read/notice the PS thing.
now that i read that i have no problems with this.
and the christian thing was not meant (more or less as a warning to avoid my Blood dragon, she doesnt like people who help the kusari government, at all and has no tolerence for them if they open up on her)
i might be one [Christian], but no where in the stories of my chars have i mentioned religion
i dont see any problems with this now that ive read that other than the siruis wide thing the weapons/ships, the zoi and tag/id
just a note, if you are RM tagged/ided then you wont be welcome in liberty. (political thing).

Nicely written and well thought out.

Problems with it are:-

Xenos and Farmers alliance factions as neutral, when other pirate groups are listed as unfriendly is more then a little strange. Especially when the xenos have no regard whatsoever for foreign lives and the farmers alliance murder synth food transport crewers.

Mercs also have no regard for human lives, they're just looking for the next pay-day, same with the BHG.

The 'shoot anyone who harms and mistreats other humans' bit when it states earlier you're all psychpaths is totally unbelievable.

Psychopaths love to kill and torture other people, so why would they not like it being done by others?

All they'd do is either get angry that someone else is doing what they believe they should be doing or give them pointers to do a better job.

It's a nice try, but unless you rewrite it/change the faction, which I think would totally change what you want to try and do... don't think it'll work.

I seem to recall a similar faction, not so long ago.. the Inquisitors, or Inquisition, I believe. While they also seemed to have a valid raison de etre, I think they lasted less than a month. Eris was amused.

I have one suggestion, though.
Why not sending the non-military guys, like these apostles to each house?
It won't be a Sirius wide police then.

Most of you have seen that we need to put our characters in 'live' first. I tried to write everything as a "final state" so the community could understand what is Agnus Dei. The truth is that i want to make this happen In Game. So yes, we will start only with the religious order (maybe one military ship for escort). We will love to have an agreement with the Rheinland, and we will try to spread slowly, to prove that the lawful forces can find us useful with our words and sometimes with our guns. Let do account ... BU, AFA, LR, XA, and... RFP.... in world, there is always a balance... we want to be a lawful force under control, not a chaotic independant lawful force.

The small matter of different IDs and tags for different parts of the faction is a non-starter I'm afraid.

About ID :
Of course, we will take Military ID and only military ID, and not to fly all over sirius with all military ships. I am perfectly aware that a Bretonian ship cannot go anywhere else than in Bretonia, etc.. If a house grant us a haven, then maybe, they'll find useful to have fanatic pilot ready to risk their live and thus let him fly on their military ships and use their military weapons.
The only ships that we will use do travel through Sirius are the Tiger Hawk, the Armored transport and the IMG gunboat of Ellias which are not strictly house military restricted.

About the IFF tag :
It is the affiliation of the characters a mark of his citizenship and assignement. Meaning if we convert a mollys, he will probably stay in Bretonia, fly a challenger, and try to convert his old brothers that there is another path. His roots are in bretonia so his IFF tag reflect that. HE will NEVER leave bretonia.
But if the community think we need to have only one IFF tag, it will be RM (because the ship will be read as "military-AgnusDei-name" so no more confusion.

About Diplomacy
Perfectly right about Xenos unfriendly (but i met few xeno characters that could be neutral to us) : changed
Right also for AFA until we have a contract with KNF changed
About BHG or merc or pirates, we do not make war to a whole faction but only with those who are "Corrupted". So in the same faction one can be "good" the other "truly evil"; the evil one is Hostile. If a BH prove to be a crazy serial killer sure he will be on our "Corrupted" list.
A corsair can have family; he do not do piracy anytime, if we met a corsair we are not supposed to attack him, we are supposed to tell him that there is another way to help his family. The first could be to join us, redempt, convert and work for the Good.

We are brainwashed to dead, controled by Marie, we are no longer psychopaths. But we do know what "evil" means as we were truly evil.

This faction doesm sound like another Sirius wide police faction, I in my opinion would get a no for approval. If your looking to get a faction going, i reccomend starting one that doesnt have an official faction yet, mainly trading companies are open.

I'll object completely here. Unless a religion, by its nature, is unassertive (read, Discordianism) and/or supported by Vanilla Freelancer it should be kept out of game and off of forum. The internet has no real law, but Separation of Church and State seems 'Given', if you will, and this would most certainly constitute the Church impinging on the State. Note that this comes from a Roman Catholic.

- We are not a Sirius police faction with an extended ZOI. A military unit stay in their home house. We respect the laws of the Houses we are in and will enforce them only if we have a formal contract. Only members of our religious order and Ellias can move freely through Sirius.

To clarify my position as a player and it will be the first and only time i will. I am a man of faith without religion or following a cult. Theology, mysticism, philosophy are a real concern to me. I stated clearly in the request post (read the PS again please) that i don't want to go into a OOC debate related to existing religions even if i would be please to do so. If the majority feel that it is "too much", no problem i will erase everything.

However, this is a game on a server we call "RP", if you played to any RPG just give me one game that do not introduce religion or faith.
Deus is an delusion coming from men under heavy drugs, brainwashed, with a virtual entity who control them through a Code. Is it against the vanilla Freelancer ? Is anything new against Vanilla Freelancer ? So, should I say to anyone using "God" in the chat sytem that this is OOC and not supported by Vanilla FL. I could have post another request faction about Junkers, i'm pretty sure the reaction will have been the same: "Not in vanilla Freelancer". (I think a specific reader know exactly what i mean about this project.)

EDIT : i have made the post because the translation of Gauliez was brilliant and because i need to be sure that the whole community see Agnus Dei has a RP projet. We are not a sect but if one of your character has a religion, feel free to RP him and treat us like heretic (like Mal does) or a sect. But once again, it is a fiction in Sci-fi world, nothing more. To quote F. Herbert : "Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little death that brings total obliteration"... yes that could be in the Code Marie.

Oniros had run this by me and it is a great storyline. I know he personally won't let it "run amuck" and he has expressed pretty serious codes for RPing this--which will keep many "juniors" from hopping on the clan then being beserkers. they won't have the discipline or patience to rp it.

Give it a try I say.

Very well written. Quite entertaining in fact.

I will not go into the points which have already been addressed here (Sirius wide police, any ship & any weapon, etc.) save one. The concept is perfectly fine, no problem mentioning "religion" in a way, however, I would remove any mention of actual real life present day religions. Ergo, I would not use the Bible as your factions reference material. Replace it with some sort of made up religious writing. Other than that stellar introduction.

This looks pretty darn good. I say leave the religion stuff in. There's not that much. If the small amount thats in there bothers people, then they need to reevaluate their own faith methinks.
