To All Personnel:
I will shortly be notifying a graphics designer in Sirius regarding putting together a logo //(sig)// for HGL. I would like some suggestions from our employees regarding both a motto for the company and graphics ideas for the logo itself.
I have some ideas of my own, but I would appreciate feedback from all of you.

Subject: Relations with Union of Gold/Mollys
To All Personnel:
We have had a major breakthrough with Union of Gold today. I have commenced negotiations with UoG leader, Doug Crane, for HGL to be a major shipper of gold from Arranmore to destinations throughout Sirius. Arranmore is now open to our ships for trading, repair, and equipment. In return, I have offered UoG the use of Kensington Shipping Platform for the same reasons. Here is the news announcement:
HGL Comm System: OPEN From: Kenneth Constantine, Exeter To: All employees Subject: Evening trade report: 4/5/2008
Content of message:
After accompanying the Trafalgar and Caernarvon on the UoG diplomatic mission and subsequent delivery of gold to Nuremburg, ships Exeter and Coventry were requested to deliver a shipment of diamonds from Bautzen Station to Planet Leeds. This shipment netted approx 3 million.
However, enroute to Leeds we encountered the pirate Black.Pearl. A rather nasty fellow indeed. If Mr. Bader would have been present, I have no doubt he would have made short work of the scoundrel. However, we negotiated a tax of 500K per ship. Not bad considering our losses of late.
Due to the escalation of pirate attacks on Gateway, I hope we can step-up our efforts in securing skilled escort pilots to counter this increasing threat to our profitability, let alone the safety of ship's captain and crew.
I again offer my congratulations to Mr. Koch for joining Gateway Shipping. He will make a fine edition to our team as DTO.

Subject: UoG Meeting and Arranmore Location
Guten Tag friends,
Today was a historic day for both the Mollies of Dublin and us here at Highland-Gateway Ltd. Today we were escorted to Arranmore Base by the Commander of Charlie Wing of the UoG, their second in command, to fiinalize our trade agreement. Everything went well, and we now have full trade rights with the UoG and permission to dock with Arranmore (which is located at the upper corner of C-6 on your Nav-Map). If you do not naturally become neutral with the Mollies, however, Sir Alisdair has instructed all of us to procure gold from Battleship Hood, as getting a bribe may alter our standing with the BPA & QCRF.
//Well, we might be able to have the Admins fix our reps. Until then, pick up everything from the Hood.\\
After this meeting, Sir Alisdair, Mr. Montgomery, Mr. Constantine, and I took the gold we acquired from the Mollies to Planet Nuremberg. We got top price in the colonies for it there, and are looking into more trade opportunities within Rheinland Space regarding Gold.
As of late, I have come to understand that we are unable to ship the following because BowEx controls the market:
Boron, MOX (BMM made, we can get it from ALG), Consumer Goods, Luxury Consumer Goods, Luxury Foods, and Food Rations (Last four are subject to change).
Also, Daumann/Republican controls the Market for:
Engine Components, Polymers, Cobalt, Copper (You can get these three minerals from Freistadt if you want to ship them), High Temperature Alloys, and Basic Alloys.
So, until we finish the list of trade runs all of that is off limits, and probably will be after we compile the list. Also, try and stay in the Trade Lanes, keep away from Jump Holes (unless you decide to run to Planet Harris, then you have to use a jump hole) and generally stay out of harm's way until we can hire more escorts.
A good night to you all,
~Gunther Koch

Subject: Corsair Menace
-----EMERGENCY NOTIFICATION-----
To All Personnel:
Due to an escalation of conflict with the Corsairs, namely the presence of their warships around Planet Cambridge, all HGL personnel are to avoid Planet Cambridge. You may continue to dock at Cardiff to load up on beryllium, and to proceed from there to Omega-3 for routes to Rheinland. However, there is to be NO HGL vessel around Planet Cambridge or Cambridge Research Station until further notice.
Please report any additional threats in Cambridge, and as always, be on the alert.
Escort pilots are act with an extra measure of caution on the part of their charges. If you must take a different path, then do so. And LOAD UP ON TORPEDOES.

Content of message:
Enroute to Omicron to research appropriate shield configurations for escort ships. I was engaged by Corsair in a holding pattern right at the jump gate leading to Cambridge. He demanded a 500k ransom for my life. Before I could switch communications to system, he opened fire.
The ship's shields were heavily damaged in the initial bombardment, but I engaged the enemy anyway. After a sustained 1 minute engagement, ship's shields went offline. Due to heavy damage to ship, I ejected into the escape pod. Was subsequently rescued by BPA forces and returned to New London.
Due to historical and current threats and losses to Gateway by Corsair pirates. I've recommended to Mr. Buchanan that all escort ships be Eagle VHF class. Mr. Buchanan has asked me to investigate the most effective weapon & shield configuration to match or exceed those of the Corsairs. This effort will require a clandestine mission to Crete to gain the necessary information.
This message is top-secret and not to be discussed with family or friends. I will submit my recommendations to Mr. Buchanan upon mission completion.

Subject: New Threat - DRA
Gentlemen,
It has come to my attention that a radical group has spun off from Union of Gold, unhappy with UoG's rapprochement with Bretonia. The new group is called the Dublin Revolutionary Army (DRA). The DRA has already taken 5000 hostages on a passenger liner, and have killed one so far.
DRA vessels are to be considered hostile and very dangerous. Do not engage, but call in the BPA or BAF if sighted.
In these dangerous times, it is more important than ever to establish a good escort wing. We are accepting new recruits and will be outfitting them free of charge.

Content of message:
Ship Exeter, captain, and crew were called into an emergency rescue mission yesterday. While enroute to Bautzen Station, Exeter was requested to divert to recover over 2000 hostages held in ransom on the pirated ship Conn Sullivan in orbit around Planet New London.
Even though BPA officers made all efforts to resolve the hostage crisis peaceably, the ship was eventually destroyed. Exeter tractored in hostages to main ship's hold. All were healthy and happy to be out of that terrifying situation. Hostages were subsequently returned to Planet New London for safe keeping.

Subject: Hostage Rescue
Mr. Constantine,
Allow me to state publicly my great satisfaction at your service to the people of Bretonia yesterday! Your contribution to the rescue effort was exemplary in every way. Well done, sir!
I have dispatched our public service office to see that all of the rescued hostages' needs are met, in case New London Medical lacks adequate resources for such a large influx of patients.
This is precisely the type of company HGL is to be: always of service to those in need. Our revenue exists first and foremost for this purpose.
Well done, Mr. Constantine, to you and the crew of the Exeter!
