Quote:The pirates. Ok, what the hell. This amounts to nothing more then mercenaries you can send after someone every 10 minutes. Thats it, nothing more nothing less. Its also a very powerful tool as the return on investment is pretty large. For 500 credits I can buy 1 ship, maybe 2 if there small (Cant remember right off). For the same price with the pirates I get a fleet of probably 15 ships that go after whoever. I just dont care for it at all.
Buy first capship very early in the game and that should help you alot ... Expand in all time and tactically develop junction places so you could stop invasion or pirates...
Develop fast and bribe pirates... that is my tactics... then find their base and destroy them...
Game is tuned up Galactic Civilizations , so if you loved that game you'll love this too...
Diplomacy sucks a bit but still it is bearable....
Thinking maybe we can get a huge on-going game of this going.. We could choose a time when we can all be around, and just save/load as we go? I haven't tried Multiplayer yet, so if this is impossible..Well, damn.

Ordered this game sent to the desert, still waiting on it to get sent, is it any good? How's the Multiplayer? And how well does Hamachi work with it? Anyone know?

P.S. Sorry for the Frankenpost, just need info.
Its quite a bit of fun, but forewarning, it can easily take two three, even five(!) hours per match. Its a deep, involved game.
Here's my first tip too you.
A. GET ZE PATCHES. The developers have completely revamped numerous aspects of the game with the latest patches.
B. Multiplayer is alot of fun, but its sort of a nightmare to be able to set up your own servers, I'm not sure why, but it needs practically ALL of your router ports open. Its a bit rediculous, as a result not alot of people host servers, and the ones that do, tend to get full fast.
C. On to basic singleplayer. There is NO SP CAMPAIGN. NONE. ZERO STORY. The only explanation you get is in the manual and starting video. So be prepared for skirmish mode against bots. Its still alot of fun, it just is jarring if you paid expecting to get a deep involved storyline.
Overall its up to you to judge the game, if I had to sum it up, I would say that the game is Homeworld 2 mixed with Civilization IV. Lots of tactics, but also alot of X4 type civilization building.
Woot. I've made this SP map with like a dozen stars and hundreds of planets... So far, I've played 17 hours on it and still haven't finished the game. Don't ask me how many ships I have...
