Quote:ps.: did i mention that i hate the term "cap whore" ? a whore is a person of negotiable affection... i don t think that has anything to do with a capital ship - unless you mean a capital whore, which would mean - a really important and great painted jezzabelle.
From urbandictionary.com:
Quote:2. Whore
Someone who does something excessively. You camping whore!
I highly doubt anyone uses the term 'capwhore' to describe all capship users. I engage in the occassional pvp fight but I don't call myself a 'pvpwhore' so unless you bought the capship with the sole intention to faceroll anything that cons red on your HUD, you really shouldn't feel targeted by the expression.
Capships can be a great aid to RP as they allow you to engage in it without worry of getting shot down in that second you pause to type something. If only more owners started using them "responsibly" the term would see much less usage and maybe, eventually, die off but until that happens (or the admins deem it inappropriate), it'll probably stay.
Edit: To add to the debate; if you're giving out Battlecruisers to new members, how about give them an Adv. Train instead and have them earn their own capships? It's both cheaper AND they can help with the guild bank to eventually replace your old ships too. Sorry if you're already doing this, just a friendly suggestion.
[BHL]BC.Avalon (used to be .:Sword:.) used to have a Liberty Assault Frigate, but i have now changed it to a Bounty Hunter BC for role-play, and i think that BH's should either have Bounty Hunter or Civilian ships, maybe Zoners, but not likely.
[17:45:39] Wolfs Ghost (Murphy): Tom, you have problems. Go kill yourself.
[19:25:12] Johnny (Jam): Tomtom, I will beat you with a spoon.
[14:22:56] Prarabdh Thakur: KILL HIM WITH A SHEEP.
[17:40:48] Eagle (Junes): Tom should be slapped with a spoon.
[11:32:18] Warspite: Thank you for being so awesome Tom. <3
[18:17:36] Metano: I love you tomtom
[20:06:24] Warspite: I will seriously give you epic head.

Hooray for wisdom. I bolded the especially awesome bit. My problem, like that of many others, is not capships themselves, but PvP-abusers in capships. You can actually defend yourself against a gunboat, but everything larger requires a dedicated attack team, like the pile of guys that swarmed the pair of Rheinland Cruisers on the Day of Uber Rheinland Unlawfuls. Yes, that is its name now, because I dubbed it so.
Anyway, I think that since you guys are quite obviously not bad people it might be a good idea to put yourselves through Del's spring cleaning. It will churn through the kinks, and probably do wonders for your PR. I'd also like to recommend a freeze on > gunboat for the time being, or at least a freeze on non-BHG ships.
DW does not need any "spring cleaning" as you call it! We keep our own house in order, always have and always will.
As mentioned before, there are only a couple of DWs with liberty ship, which, as also mentioned, was allowed when bought. However these DWs ARE in the process of changing them to BH.
Also as previously mentioned many of us have more hours spent in our fighters than in larger ships....so
DW does not appreciate this unjustifiable tirade.
The DW Council is currently sitting to decide on our course of action, since our assistance of SA and LSF is obviously not appreciated, its time to review the situation.
Sig edited out because it tripped Chrome's malware alarm.
Hmm Crunch was told go read this, Reads 6 pages of all lies except the fact that 2 DW players own Liberty Carriers. Getting burned by such flames pulls out his massive fire hose can't decide wether to pee on flames or crowd.

So, you completely dismiss peer review out of hand... Wow.
The great thing about Del's idea is that it gives people the chance to make a far more streamlined and compact faction organisation. People critisizing you faction doesn'r mean we want to get rid of it. It is a friendly way of suggesting possible improvements. Nothing more.
When RoS put ourselves up for Del's spring cleaning, we got a lot of flak about the number of non-outcast ships we use. That prompted me to switch my talon back to a sabre, and it was like coming home to an old friend.
We now have a far better and more fun organisation as a result of it.
But hey as you so assuredly say, you keep your own house in order, so maybe you don't want your faction to gain new ideas from outside, no matter the improvements they may bring.
Your funeral.
Edit: This is not a dig at your choice of ship or anything, I like what you guys do. But I really think that the spring cleaning idea is a good one, and almost every faction could benefit from a regular peer review.
DW players are good people indeed, And i was not posting here with the will to start a flame fest
so to anywho reading all this, please stay cool and polite, do not put any Etiquettes on any faction, and don't create false stories, If you are unsure about a fact, admit it.
(yes,,, my english sound a bit terrible lately,,, tired)
EDIT: I feel like 5 people will post long paragraph in a few minutes..)
One thing to consider is that 5 pages of this thread consist of several attacks against our clan. Some of the accusations are complete lies and other things that have been done against DW were not even brought to light. Unconfirmed at this point is one of our Liberty Carriers being attacked in New York by LSF forces. DW did not initate this conflict and did not fire during the entire thing. After respawning he was attacked and destroyed again. Then it was discussed by liberty forces that he should be imprisoned within new york and not allowed to leave. This is an Lawful faction attacking a Lawful faction, not once but 3 times.
On the subject of spring cleaning, how about stopping clans from imposing rules that allow them to attack other players based on an item that they dont even own or control. Or stop trying to introduce rules that do nothing to promote RP but to only justify a reason for more pvp battles.
I do not feel that DW would be opposed to discussing the RP aspects of our clan with an admin to sort things out. The way it was presented was nothing short of hostile though.
I will say this: DW has its own forums, its own community, and we don't know you. You come here, and you play on our server, but you've alienated yourself from this community simply by being a community apart. There's nothing wrong with that, nothing at all. But don't expect us to know you. There are complaints you have against the community, but we've never even had the chance to see a report of one of your battles, unless we record it. All we see are our images. You toss out complaints of the community out of hand, and from where I'm sitting, at the very least, that sort of behavior seems to say that you think you're superior to us. I hadn't read this thread through when I first came back to it, and many people never will. What they'll see, when they stick their head in to see how things are going, is the DW rejecting the community. They honestly won't care about the community coming after you, because that's their community, not the stranger. Not fair at all, but thats what's happening. You are, even after all this time, holding yourselves apart from the community here, and wondering why we haven't warmed up.
BTW, trekster, SF was a disco faction, not a clan. And they didn't exactly leave disco, either.
