Played all of the Wing Commnders - and YES they are not Space Trader games - but Privateer (loved it) was the first space trader game for me.

Never got Privateer 2 to work on my pc.

First space game ever for me? Asteroids on the arcade back in the 1970's! Guess that is why I enjoy flying as IMG now!!!!
