Nobody makes Unioner indies, for example. There's no Unioner indies on the server at all, as far as I'm aware - so it's difficult integrating indies when some of us have no indies. And what would a Commune indie look like? A nomad aligned FL?

To clarify it: This event isn't about boosting membership, but to slightly increase the cooperativity between the involved factions - that is why I don't want indies to partake, as they rarely resemble their respective factions in any way but are created to partake in an organized fight. For that, there are enough other people that make pews with that goal. Past has shown the Vagrants can work very well together with the Commune and the fights we had so far with the Brotherhood have been mostly fun for both sides - of course there will always be some people that enjoyed it less than others. Since Tanith last time requested UN to be involved as well, I thought it might be okay to involve them for this one event.

To be honest, I doubt official-only events are a motivator to join official factions, just for the sake of joining them to partake in organized events. That isn't my motivation to create those events, but rather to create organized fights with people/groups of a sort-of similar combat level. Which is pretty hard already given that the only good nomad ship right now is the Rabisu, against a full ship-line of completely broken ships. Like, the Corsair snubs are incredibly hard to hit, and everything bigger than a snub is generally a tank, with the Murmillo the only exception as light battleship. And the nomad ships have weird and uncomparable stats, especially the Nammu, which is the last ship in the entire mod that should be called a gunboat.
