First off: Walker, players have been banned recently for cheating and swearing. That, in my and the rest of the Admin's opinion, is NOT minor. You swear, you get banned. End of story.

Then why was my sanction thread locked without an admin responding to my call for proof? Your only proving his point.

Freeworlds..was that not the mod that has pretty much destroyed itself umpteen times due to Admin abuse and INCREDIBLY whiny players?

let me tell you how we do it on freeworlds, and its worked real well for about 4 years. you want to play, you make a CIV, and you have a [CIV] tag, if you want in a faction, a faction leader or someone with faction moderators access on the forums adds you to the memberlist. and you make your charachters with there tags, in our case its starwars like [IMP] [NR] etc. get it? no badges, no need for scanning ships for no reason, you see that there the enemy and attackthem, if your looking for smugglers then you scan there cargo. none of this "halt! who goes there" crap.

I think this clearly shows how much you care for roleplay. This is a roleplay server, the

"halt! who goes there" crap

is actually one of the biggest draws of this community and it is why it has the Largest Player Base. Far larger than Freeworlds currently.

People like things as they are. Some might have some problems with some of the rules but no one who has stuck around for longer than 1 month will stand up and argue to do anything near what you want to be done.

Cushion, I , like you came from another server..(Shoot, I was an Admin there).. And, I understand that there is a big difference in how we look at things from one server to another. But the main thing is that here in Discovery, these rules are what the majority of the people believe in to make this game fair. No matter what anyone else believes in, this is how it is. You are more than entitled to your opinion, and voice it as often as you like, but, until the majority here sides with you, these are the rules. If you want to play on this server, you must follow the rules.. Simple as that..

Wow, having read this thread I realise just how good we have it here with the Discovery mod.

Like many of you, I have played on 'vanilla' as well as modded servers and i'd just like to point out that Discovery happens to be the best constructed, maintained and played server i've ever been on. Other servers which are more pvp-orientated lack the depth and detail that Discovery offers (come on, has anyone ever tried the Void mod?), also the rules of Discovery allow for a more enjoyable experience for those who are willing to try to follow them, they rarely restrict the fun, at least not to the degree that is being implied here.

In my time here, the mod, the forum and especially the people convince me that this is a great place for those who like to RP at any level - and having a good laugh while you're at it.

So, please don't come here and bash this server - the number of players alone shows how good the mod is - instead, maybe stick with other servers if you want to 'lol' your days away, I hear there are four or five players still on 'Just4Fun'? Any confirmation on that?

well as i sit here reading the last page..... i have to say, people never disapoint. im glad that the communtiy here has a wide varried range of opinions, i am quit shocked to see someone giving their past experiences from other servers as a reference. i am pleased, due to the immense feedback i shall delete my first post, and consider giving the mod another shot. as i have read here, i must say i am also a veteran of many diff mods, evolutions, WTS, DS9, Freeworlds, Nightstalkers Universe Mod, and a host of others..... i remember when i first joined freeworlds, i thought the rules there were outlandish and totally devoid of free spirit, i had to adjust my thinking there, I guess ill just have to do so here, as for eric the red, im curios as to what has happened there, ive known eric from the GetGo and even though eric has pushed limits of rules, i dont think he's ever stepped over the line, too often.....

You know I read yr original post when you first posted it and I didn't reply at the time because I was so disgusted and angry by yr attitude, I'm still not sure I should be even posting but I did have to say one thing... if your the kind of person that likes receiving insults and getting blown up for no reason then I would suggest like the rest before me have ... go find a server that suits your needs best bud and leave this server to us, we like the rules and the way the admins handle people of YOUR kind.
