Xenos in Kappa

Its a legal kill, but its a jerk move, as was the kill on a starflier. That guy posted here complaining he got chewed out for it and we ripped on him for about two pages, fear not- nobody does that to anybody and gets off for it.

Its a whore move that gains you nothing other than a death message and a pissed off human on the other side. Why would you want to?

As for in-character, analyze this:

What kinds of battleships have legitimate reasons to operate in Omicron Kappa:
Corsairs
Zoners
Order

The Xenos are enemies to none of those. In fact, the Zoners could be considered friends. Granted, the Xenos might shoot a Corsair for being in Liberty, but then you can ask what said Corsair is doing in Liberty.

So... there was no RP to it, but it was legal, just... bad.

I agree it's a jerk move, so are the 5 to 1 bomber whorings that factions do here. Any unfair fight is a jerk move if both parties are not up for it but they happen here a lot, a whole lot.

I wouldn't have shot the Xeno in a BS, I might have in a GB (I have killed a Xeno fighter with a GB) but that's really just as bad.

As far as why any player is anywhere, unless and until there is an easy way to transfer funds and every guard base and possibly every major planet has all the top notch equipment people will be all over the server.

I was lagged killed by a Xeno a month or so ago in Kappa myself, when I was equipping my blood dragon bomber. What's a Xeno and a Blood Dragon doing there? We both were equipping obviously. I lagged red during the docking with full shields and hull and when I came out of red lag blew up, and I was already in the docking sequence when I blew up. I couldn't freeflight and dodge or anything, and although I was already in a cat I think I had no armor yet. I was pissed, obviously but I chatted with the guy who said he hadn't realized I was in red lag and offered to give me my stuff he tractored in back.

It would be nice if people were more like that, able to apologize or able to limit themselves to fair fights in the first place, but they are not, and it's not just ryoken, it's everyone.

When the guy killed me last night in a starflier I wasn't even pissed, because it's been so many unfair fights since then, so many jerks, and a few of them factions. I was going to just put a big fat bounty on him, but an indie in a cap ship chased him off for me when he heard what happened and I continued on the character build (getting hassled by someone else for being over level with a civy ID in the process, after I told him I was character building he said I was lazy, oh well, maybe I am.)

I'll tell you another story, there was a big melee a couple weeks ago, dragons and GC against KNF and AFA, this one went the good guys way (meaning Dragons and GC), except for one KNF (GB I think) that was lagging bad, so bad we couldn't hit him. He knew it, people were asking to leave because he was the last KNF and it was 3 or 4 to one against him at that point, but the guy kept thrusting and reversing while lagging, shots were landing all over him but not scoring, his shields were regenerating before we could get enough lucky shots to take them down, and it went on forever, at least a half hour before we managed to kill it.

A week or so before that I was alone (In my dragon cruiser which I have since gotten rid of) against a couple KNF and I was the one lagging, lagging so bad the same thing was happening, the fight was impossible. Now I could have been a jerk and done the same, they had a bomber and support on the way and I could have used the lag to my advantage, to take the fun out of their victory but instead I posted in character that they were too strong and I retreated back to BD space, giving them the victory and saving us all the hassle of an ugly lag fight that wasn't any fun. Not that I'm any saint, I can be and have been as abig a jerk as anyone else.

Anyway, I'm rambling, my point is that if you want to protect people while they are building their characters, do it and the issue is solved. Make a OORP BUILDING CHARACTER ID, put it on manhatt, let people use it to build their character with no right to engage, to harvest wrecks, mine, anything in character or even to RP or use system chat. Once they get the ship and equipment they have to get rid of it and get their final ID.

Otherwise this stuff will happen and some of the time no one will step up to apologize and be the bigger man, especially when you rag on them to the point of making them all defensive so they rag back, and we'll get these pointless discussions that don't make things better or fix the issue.

Um... you blew up a Xeno fighter, setting up, in your battleship. For no reason other than he was a Xeno.

Even (most of) the Liberty lawful forces don't do that anymore.

Really, please refrain from doing that in the future and if the guy is online please apologize to him. That was quite mean, and there was no reason for you to do that other than to be a jerk, which I'm sure was not your intention. Right?

That's the kind of behavior that makes people scream "damn capwhores" which is usually well justified. If you apologize, no biggy. If you think its fine after reading this, then... you deserve that label, sorry to say.

I am BH BS, and i was hunting Nomad's, which BH's do.
He was "NOT" in a starflier, nor did he mention he was setting up his char(which 2 XA were also doing at a diff time, but told me and i let be).
I warned the XENO to keep out of gun range when he aprouched the planet i was infront of(killing nomad's at time. a whole battle group) as i hate xeno's(RP wise).
He then slipped in under my gun's while i was fighting a nomad BS.
less then 1 min later he come's out under full Thrust trying to get under me again.

So yes it was a fair kill/yes he had time to see me/yes he had time to say he was setting up/he was lvl 56/he had a xeno ID where most use a trader ID to set up.

And if i am such a cap whore why is it i let 4 count them 4 corsair's go by who also said before hand they were setting up.I also let a corsair Tagged smuggler go by as it is not my place to hunt smuggler's out of my ZOI. I let an outcast Desi go by also did not attack/pursue,But did inform a corsair he was entering Gamma, as i do not think an outcast Desi alone should.

SOO if people want to call me a CAP WHORE so be it. Those who i have played with know yes i like cap's, but know i do not PVP whore in them.

Wasn't calling you a capwhore, only saying that if you thought it was okay to blast people setting up with battleships then you would be. Since you aren't that kind of guy, judging by the account of Corsairs going through for Supernovas, it appears to have been a simple misunderstanding. Nothing more to it.

Warning to random people reading this thread, if you a bomber in Omicron Kappa with a weird tag, it might be a good idea to ask if they're setting up. Its more than likely, and will help avoid lethal misunderstandings.

Sorry have seen to many jump on other's with out knowing all the fact's.
I did feel a little bad for killing him, but he did not heed my warning,nor state his purpose there.
But i agree a BS is over kill, but it is what i was in at the time. If i had my arrow, i would still have attacked him.(just not infront of a nomad BS hehe).
You want to be a Xeno. you need to know you are a target to all.
