Well, I thought the admins would just .addcash it, noone looses any...

The thought being that a faction like the Navy would be supported by Taxes, a faction like the Outcasts by Cardamine production. You could even reduce money after certain events, like a massive event where the Outcasts loose a ton of ships, payments go down while they rebuild ships etc.

Absolutely love the idea...

Epic Faction RP without grinding ftw!

Obviously there would have to be criteria in place for the faction to earn such things (minimum numbers of members etc.) so as to avoid abuse.

but yeah... Moar RP time FTW!

One more problem I see in this is, that the number of traders could go down. Traders attract pirates, pirates attract lawfuls. So what happens if many players wouldn't need to trade anymore to keep their combat chars runing?

Can I roleplay as the leader of a group of superbored billionaires who like to cause chaos in Sirius and so then qualify to get this free money too?

Anddddd on another note, give the money to independents too. Remembering that they often do a better job at things than faction members.

People will still need their trader chars for other non factionalized characters such as freelancers and such. I don't think this will be a problem.

I don't see it being a problem at all. There are tons of people trading for their cap ships and things like that and they would continue to do so. Also there are a TON of people that don't have any official faction characters.

In fact this could also help drive up the official faction numbers.

With a plan like the one Karlo suggested, where Navy recruits get paid 5 milllion a week, it would be useful for new players (it took me 2 weeks for someone to donate 1 mil in cash when I was new..) especially since it takes forever for them to get that much anyways.
