Quote:So in short if you start KOSing folks in Omi-100 without beign a member of Bs| you better be bloody careful who you're killing. It takes all of two seconds to scan for ID, stick to the rules and you won't get hurt.
I already commented on that fact, we do scan for ID's when stopping people in the system. Anyone without an order, zoner, or corsair ID gets killed.
I honestly dont care if you're a trader, that system is off limits - it isnt your personal shortcut or highway from alpha to new york, and if people want to treat it as such they should be prepared to defend themselves or suffer the consequences of that decision.
In the Bs| message dump and other threads, Order indie characters have reported about pirates and smugglers etc.
And as an Admiral in Bs| I have personally told these loyal indies that they should follow Bs| rules in Omicron 100 and destroy smugglers and the such. Nothing wrong in having indies follow the faction rules, is there?
And on a side note, I find it amazing how devoted the Order indies are to Bs|, I really respect them and enjoy their being there despite they're not in Bs|, it's a very nice touch to have, and I really like how some people stay in 100 and guard it, much respect to you guys.
' Wrote:regardless, you've seen black squadron members post here in support. <-- Who? Which of those posting is a member of Black Squadron? The member list is at the bottom of this post. For the most part this thread is dominated by you and me. I only see maybe one Bs| member posting here in support of you, SwissScorch. Not exactly a big turnout.
Their original faction draft stated a 30 second leeway, but that was before smugglers started using the route daily. Times change, and smugglers/traders moving through the guard system are more of a threat than they've ever been before. <-- Can't go by what's not written down. I can only go by what's posted in the faction status page and by what they have linked to the Black Squadron rules for Omicron Minor and Omicron 100. So unless DBoy changes that 30 second rule ... oh ... lol ... that's right ... you're not a member anyway.
I'm sorry, you're not going to change my mind about this, and I'm not breaking any server rules by opening fire on non-order players in the order guard system. <-- No ... you just want it your way. This isn't Burger King. You can get sanctioned if you have no role play behind your attack. If you are not a member of Black Squadron you cannot claim safety behind their rules. If a trader does not have contraband, you can't touch him. Black Squadron ... as a "recognized faction" ... has rules they follow for "Black Squadron's role play." You are not Black Squadron ... so your role play is that of a "traditional" Order character. And that means your only enemies and allies are on your Order info card. You really cannot have it both ways. You are either a member of Black Squadron ... or your not.
we update our roster monthly, we have had a few members join since that last update.
And like I said, most avoid this thread because it's pointless, really. I'm just replying because it bothers me that there's actually a discussion about this.
So because of that, I'd like an admin or mod to please lock this silly topic that's coming nowhere.
And like I said, we have lives, I wasn't too happy to take a studying break and find this...
edit- and for the last time, I have personally asked Order indies to follow the rules of Bs| in that system, so go ahead and yell at me, see where that gets you.
And that 30 second rule, to me I only give them the 30 seconds once, if they come again the next day, too bad, you got the seconds the day before and a warning, probably more than one.

I don't argue with your right to do that, in fact given how OORP the alaska route is for anyone, I heartily encourage it.
Swiss, whilst you can say they can follow the guard system rules, they must still abide by server rules, Bs| only have to RP the encounter, they don't have to scan for ID and can smoke traders in their cruisers. Indies unfortunately shouldn't be doing it. Although if Kuraine's ID reforms go through you may find that it becomes much esaier for indy order folks to actually enforce the system rules.

yes, we ALL scan for id's, but sometimes you don't have to.
Rule is both order ID and tag, so if you don't appear green on the scanner then by default you aren't Order tagged and that's already breaking the rules.

Thanks scorch, I try. Despite being an Indy, I readily follow any orders from upper Bs| members when asked, and readily offer advice and jobs to newer/lower ranked Bs| members when they've got nothing to do.
I may not have the tag (and with good reason, I dont want to give up what I've worked hard for just to join a faction) - but I still work for black squadron directly, and I follow their rules.

See swissScorch there? He's got at least four characters in black squadron and is one of their upper ranking members. I think only Dboy ranks higher than him as the faction creator.

Read the post right above yours, swissScorch has supported all of our actions against smugglers and traders in omicron 100, despite being independent of black squadron. this arguing really isnt getting you anywhere.

The second a player sets foot in omicron 100, they are considered a priority threat by the order - black squadron or otherwise. No attack that takes place in that system is OoRP - we're defending the order's shipyards and classified projects.
The people who are out of RP here are the cardamine smugglers who think they can set foot in one of the most heavily gaurded systems in the game with a load of 5000 units of cardamine and stroll through unhindered because "lawl, we're not on the order's enemy list"
' Wrote:In the Bs| message dump and other threads, Order indie characters have reported about pirates and smugglers etc. <-- Ok ... let em report. But they are still not members of Black Squadron ... thus they do not have the protection of Black Squadron's rules. Black Squadron rules of conduct apply to its membership. And that rule ... 4.8 ... here I'll quote it below for you. Also note that what is said in a factions message dump is not a published standing rule. Not everyone gets that deep into message dumps ... there's not enough time in the day to read everything. We can only go by what's in the faction's official status page.
And as an Admiral in Bs| I have personally told these loyal indies that they should follow Bs| rules in Omicron 100 and destroy smugglers and the such. Nothing wrong in having indies follow the faction rules, is there? <-- Be careful ... I've seen sanctions by Admins for SA and LSF giving that type of authority to their indies. It caused all kinds of PVP whoring in New York and has taken SA a long time to rid themselves of the indie problem. Black Squadron is responsible for doing their job. Just like SA is responsible for theirs. Now ... you can hire mercs if you like. ;) Take note also ... if an indie violates rules established by the server admins and/or Black Squadron ... and the leadership does not correct them ... well ... read the rule below.
And on a side note, I find it amazing how devoted the Order indies are to Bs|, I really respect them and enjoy their being there despite they're not in Bs|, it's a very nice touch to have, and I really like how some people stay in 100 and guard it, much respect to you guys. <-- Thank you ... I appreciate that ... oh yes ... I also have an Order character. And yes ... this character is in Omicron Minor and 100 pretty much all the time.
Pay close attention to this rule folks ... again ... note the underlined.
Quote:4.8 Sanctions for violating faction rules, including out-of-RP behaviour, may be applied to the whole faction as well as a certain player. This may happen if a large part of the faction is violating the rules specified, and if the leader(s) of the faction endorse the violations committed by players, ignore the warnings and do not attempt to improve the situation, or violate rules themselves. Sanctions for a faction include credit/equipment fine and placing inside the prison system for all characters or part of characters belonging to a faction.
This topic has been done to death, both Tenacity and Swissscorch have said that they are keeping to server rules. So where's the problem? Omi-100 is part fo one of the most OORP trade routes outside of the Diamond run, so where's the problem? They are dealing with this problem and Tenacity just ahppened to make a thread whilst he was miffed, let it lie and know that they are keeping to the rules.
Saint Del is considered a holy healer of diseases of children, but also as a protector of cattle.
wait, that last part... I'm not sure I get it.
The way I understand it is if for example, alot of Bs| members start breaking rules then the whole faction gets in trouble...
You have an Order character too? Well then that makes this a whole lot more interesting, hehe, nice.:)
and it would be RP for indies to follow faction rules, so the RP is there, if they don't scan for ID's or anything that's their fault.
