I would like a clear clarification on this here case, preferrably from an official source.
I have a bit of RP and a character based on a Repair Ship, and before I invest huge amounts of money into it, I'd like to know if it is allowed.
My two cents on the problem.
Repair ships are totally useless during a battle, yet they are in-game.
Batt/bot trading should be allowed, withing the rules of normal pvp engagements. No disengaging and re-engaging, no docking for supplies, no cruising away.
From the most ancient of times, there were combat field doctors and mechanics. I see no wisdom in such an advanced world like Sirius, not having them aswell.
Yes, it would cause loss of balance in a fight. However, there is nothing stopping "the opposing side" having their own Repair Ship(s).
I will repeat some things, just to be clear.
-It is about Repair Ships only.
-Are they allowed to trade bots/bats during a battle, and if so, what restrictions would apply.

I am sure that in the rules ,somewhere, is a section against personal attacks and slander of each other.

Next: Trading BB---Is it illleagal?
If you go by the 'spirit' of the pages and pages of rules, then the answer is YES.
Why??: Because most of the rules of game combat are written so the combat is DESIGNED to be shorter--Instead of long and drawn out with the possiblility of 'never-ending'.
You are not allow to dis-engage and re-enaged.....why, because the rules say so, and from reading the admins ( and players) comments..the 'spirt' of the rule was designed to keep the combat short.
You are not allowed to engage cruise in combat..and when you do, you have admitted 'defeat'. Again, the rules say so and the design of the rule was to keep combat short.
So......if we have all the rules that are designed to keep the combat short, then logic says trading BB while in combat is the same as docking to a base, repairing and re-enaging.

It's not slander if it can be proven to be true.
Back to the point though...
There are no rules against bot/bat trading in combat. There is even a repair ship included in the mod. It has a ridiculously high bot/bat allowance, so it is obvious that it was designed for this very purpose.
Just because some people aren't able to function as a team, doesn't mean everyone else should fly solo too.

Well, yes, that is exactly what i was thinking about. However we should get an authorized opinion on this, least the next combat will be something like this:
"OMG, WE R0XXOR U SUXXOR, R3P41R SHP, BAN BAN BAN BAN BAN CUZ DEI LAM3RZ, R3P41R SHP"
And if I really wanted to behold such behaviour, I'd go back to WoW.
I've traded bots and bats whilst speaking to Admins about it. Simple tactics.
Also, it's quite the novelty to see repair ships used... most folk are impressed by the dedication of a player who wants to repair folk instead of killing.
Its a great tactics, and its doable and people should do it. Whats your problem man, why did you say it's oorp when its not?
What now I'll let a player who complains about every step of this game and isn't even allowed to play now to dictate me how will my game go?
Not likely. Why don't you think about things that are really oorp and start thinking hard about them, and then continue on things what are illegal to do since I see you're not allowed to play now.
There's nothing to keep civil here, as things are already working as best as they come when it comes to bats / bots situation. If a repair ship could magically spend its bots to repair your hull and shield, it would be awesome, but it can't, and it probably won't ever be able to, so we counter the situation by trading bots and bats, just like that.
If you feel the need to visualize how this work in RP just imagine they're both stored outside the ship actually where batteries connect to the hull and let the electronic burst thats set to the shield frequency so it actually replenishes the shield and think of nanobots as the, well.. nanobots that are released to repair the hull their computer marks as disfunctional.
Now picture one player simply changing the frequency of his bots to fit to his wingman's ship.

Official source replies only, please.
Thank you.
-Yes, repair ships can enter a battle and begin to trade nanobots/batteries with players. It is not against the rules.
-The only restrictions that apply are ones you'd normally find in a combat situation - you can't cruise, even if you are trader IDed. Once you begin trading bats/bots with someone, it counts as a pvp engagement.. so you either stay or leave. Can't run and come back with more supplies.
