In return to what you said Jinx, I have been slowly incorporating a system of flying in and tearing a ship to shreds in leu of demanding cargo/blowing it up. However it's a system that's prone to a few "whoopsies" so I've been cautionary with it.

Making people simply scared to trade in Liberty is, after all, our goal!

Just an observation about the roleplaying : In roleplay terms, dropping lifeless cargo is one thing. Committing mass murder against a few thousand passengers is another level altogether. Perhaps you should make a distinction between the two. There's nothing to stop you doling out expensive repair bills and blowing off all their guns and equipment.

From my opinion xenos should have different approach at the traders incoming to liberty and liberty traders exporting goods out.

Although its both bad and I hope that xenos get their way, the way of the honest hands earning the money trough sweat and hard work instead of capitalist power hungry mongrels taking over liberty and destroying the fragments of ol' glorious self, the xenos should react differently at foreigners and homeboys.

I'ld say that foreign trader should get pretty much mashed up, his cargo destroyed or kidnapped and his sorry butt sent home with a big message spraypainted over whats left of his hull "AND STAY THERE"

The homeboys should be treated as homeboys who did something wrong. Drop the cargo, and go back to your mother son, I suggest you take a job at plantation or even get your own and realize some things before you sit in the trader again.

As for the LSF, well, thats kinda tricky, they're patriots as well, and they are protecting homes as well, but damnit they're on the wrong side and the limit is drawn at "hoping the poor boy will eject on time".

Basically, things would go smoother if a traders need to get an affiliation and id as well.
Because people would know who to pirate when, what to pirate and what to let go, what to fine and who to kill on sight.
And ofcourse, it would lead to the nice good sweet privateer ID's too and indenpendent traders would be left with less, or no rights at all.

But seriously.. my point of view is upstairs.

Xeno's...you gotta love 'em . As a trader who has had several run ins with them i think that thier demand to drop cargo is just about right and i agree with the new draft ID for them. However, having been blowen apart from one who said nothing ( seemed to be an independant ) to being stopped and told to drop cargo and sent on my way with some damage as well ( XA ) it can be hard for the clan guys ( XA ) to police these independant's ( perhaps police is the wrong word here :D)

Try it, we'll still take out a Zoner transport if they won't play nice with the Xenos. We'll just be damn surreptitious about it. Even Zoners who are trading are still promoting the slave labour based economy of Liberty. We won't attack Zoner fighters or other ships, but bringing foreign goods into Liberty is a no-no, no matter who you are. Any Zoner who isn't respecting that, isn't a proper Zoner. Although i would expect Zoner traders to be offered the oppotrunity to drop it off at the nearest freeport or simply turn back the way they came.

As a trader who has recently been forced to drop my cargo by XA I say that the demanding cargo is perfectly in line with Xeno motives; Disrupting/discouraging foreign trade so that the jobs come back to Liberty.

I do agree that in cases of human cargo that you might find an alternate way of hurting the trader without mass murder of passengers, etc.

Id also like to see the occasional incoming foreign trader attacked and heavily damaged before being allowed to surrender his cargo. Just to help get the point across that foreign trade is bad for your health and your wallet. (should I remind them that Im a Liberty born trader?) :)

Whatever happens I personally think the XA have been doing a fine job RPing their faction.

And I was thinking more of corporation id and affiliation than a "nation" id.
And yeah, there's already alot of these so called Zoners, as well as those Zoners that can't wait to assist someone in pvp. WRONG.

Though to be fair I, at least, have never engaged in exploding the scattered ejection pods of the hapless persons who had secured passage for destinations unknown. Though when one is engaged in the process of calling attention to ones cause in a rather noisy fashion sending a few thousand passengers hurtling about in lifeboats is a good way to remind people of what's going on.

We don't need to slaughter Libertonians and potentially demonize our cause in the eyes of the people who support it. Doesn't mean we're going to let a buncha folks who're dropping coin to a shipping company have any leeway when passing us by.

As to the homegrown/foreign question: It's worth noting that we keep our paws off of Universal shipping transports. In addition to granting us some kickbacks and pressing various bits of legislation that keeps Xenos off of the chopping block and back into Huntsville circulation whence snagged there is a level of "homegrown" that makes that affair slightly more attractive.

Doesn't mean we like them though, as they're pretty much giving us a legup as it's good business.

But, the end point being that the majority of Liberty's exports, what the homeboys are moving, are being produced by the same folks that cut the lower majority out of the picture. It's hard to smile and nod at a fellow pushing consumer goods produced at for profit prison factory.

Edit: Zoners... Ugh.

I like the Zoners and the Zonie way of life a great deal. What I don't like are Zoner battleships full of Xenos and Zoners who suddenly join in a fight, or "Zoners" with police tags carrying the same grindastic trade goods as everyone else.

Double Edit: But I think the question has been resolved in a "rules" sense.

I have no problems with Xenos demanding cargo. I have been in Colorado and listened to Xenos harrassing traders and thought it was good RP. Once we IMG were holding a mass mining operation in CO and a lone Xenos thought he would pester us with "don't take that Silver out of Liberty..." I thought it was good RP. A fight insued and the Xenos died and we were all 'cordial' in the aftermath. And good fun RP for sure.

So I say - Xenos - demand all you want.

Traders - my advice is to hire escorts or fly in convoys.
