I've been flying the Hyena and it seems usable.

No torpedoes on light fighters, please.

The forward firing turret will change a lot, finally the debilitator turret sold on Buffalo will come to some use.
Decent armor, power plant and maneuverability upgrades would be fine, but I'm not the balance guy so I can't determine how much and if any of these three should be done.

Oh and yeah, the Hawk & Griffin ships seem to have a stuck handling, which is sad because these ships are meant to be used by Xenos and civilian escorts. And when you get outturned by an Eagle, well ... not very enjoyable. But that's been mentioned before, I believe.

Legionnaire:

Maybe the Corsair factions don't use it, but ... how come when the NPC's fly it it's so damn tough? I mean, hard to hit...

Oh and I voted for Griffin because Rum Rogers (see signature) has been able to dodge three capital ships and a few heavies near Pittsburgh and made it safely to Rochester.
I don't know the Phantom, but the Griffin is the only one I don't have doubts about.

No experience in any of the mentioned light fighters mostly flown the scimitar and tryed the arrow fun little ships but it's annoying when npcs blow you away while you dock with a jump gate or similar. I've actually bought the scimitar a few times to give it another go but the npcs mean I don't keep it long.

I don't see how Hyena can be made useful. I see it as an RP ship now, just like Werewolf.
Maybe give it a large agility boost and bigger power plant. That might help, but it would still be more of a HF then LF.

Decurion, well... I'v heard from AoM that it's gonna be much different in new version.
New model, new stats, maybe even a forward firing turret.
As I'v heard, it's gonna rock. Outcasts, be afraid.

Griffin is just fine in my opinion, I'v flown it for like a month, and it wasn't bad at all.
It's faster then Eagle, I can tell ya that.

Never flown the Phantom though, but I'v also heard it's not all that bad.
Also, Rheinland needs to have some weaknesses compared to Liberty, and LF is the only one at the moment, if we'r not counting caps - since they just die in mass fights.

From LFs I've flown ... Hyena is the worst one.... Scimitar is okay.. but lacks maneuverability (not much but a little boost), Loki is big for a LF but I suppose torpedo slot compensate for that , Corsair LFs are pretty bad though, yes some upgrades will be applied.. Slipstream needs a proper hitbox... But Hyena needs really big upgrades in power and agility or leave agility as it is and add Torp slot and boost power...

IMO Phantom is the worst out of all 4 houses.

Also, how big is Loki? What vanilla ship does it use the hitbox from?

I havent flown all of them. In fact, I havent even flown the Decurion (mk II Legionaire) for more than a brief 5 minutes on single player mode. I certainly dont have combat experience in any of them.

I do believe that despite the strong showing from the Decurion, that on paper at least, the Hyena is the worst. Four guns is already close, three guns is the limit, really. Add to that that it is as much of a target as the Legionaire model and you got yourself a winner!

The ones that need changes:

Arwing - apart from the obvious problems, its hitbox is not all that great

Decurion - turning increase (to scimitair level) + maybe HF powerplant or extra armor

Griffin - turning increase, to some 1.45

Hyena - turning increase to some 1.4, forward firing turret

Liberator - turning decrease ~1.4 , it's tiny and extremely agile, should be moved closer to Wyrm

Loki - better hitbox (smaller and with wings) - AoM is doing it I believe

Phantom - turning increase ~1.4

Sea Serpent - turning increase to ~1.42

Slipstream - proper hitbox

I couldnt agree more on decturion.... maybe just truning rate should be abit higher then scimitar.

I was told Decurion is getting forward firing turret. So a I proposed turning slightly under Scimitar while giving it a bit more armor.

And it blows, has a huge hitbox, crappy agility, and poopy weapons.
The Legionnaire is the small vanillia fighter for Corsairs (weapons level 4-5), the Decurion is the bigger one (weapons level 8-9). They use the same model and hitbox, so as far as I can tell, the Decurion's hitbox should fit it like a glove. A big glove at that, the ship is pretty big. I fly it, more often than my Titan actually. I use it as an exploration vessle and have all of Bretonia, 90% of the Omicrons and most of the Omegas mapped in it. During that time I've been destroyed by all manner of foe.

The huge hitbox you mentioned, is a part of the ship, the agility I can agree with. I was using the Legionnaire as a part of a trial run of a Challenge for Benitez recruits and I loved the turning - when I 'upgraded' to a Decurion it was markedly more sluggish in turning and strafe. If the Decurion could be brought to the standards of it's LF MkI counterpart in turning, it'd probably make it a bit more usable. As for the guns, it's the same as any other LF, two level 8 slots and two level 9 slots. The reason this is bad is because there are no Corair level 8 shield busters, and we can't use civilian ones. Go figure.

And can anyone point me to the thread for the Decurion replacement? I hope it ain't a spikey ship next-gen Corsair ship... I like the Legionnaire shape.

I voted the Hyena.
I believe the Sea Serpent should be up there, the way it turn by rolling first than moving makes it feel like a Heavy.
