While not wanting to engage in a 4 day, 4 hour siege seems perfectly legitimate to me, the lawful side just throwing like this seems to me to be in extremely poor taste
Feedback:
- Divide the events development:
> Trading, supplying, RP, patrols, minor skirmishes during 1-2 weeks. All with RP from the factions involved (demanded to boost RP on forum) and with RP of the events that unfolded during that time period.
> Organized Fights during the weekends - with some convoy protection, no respawn timer for 1-2 hours, base defense etc.
> Get all or as many of the factions that have ZOI in the system (and are impacted by the events) involved *this may and should include other house Intelligence agencies - sabotage, espionage, foreign aid - backed up by RP from their respective factions to encourage and promote diversity and activity on the board for as many factions as possible. This would require RP involvement from the factions to be necessary.
Dublin is contested for Gold, which is a major commodity in Sirius economy. Corsairs are not crashing the party, Gaians are watching things burn, Red Hessians are not helping their allies, the other houses are not doing any foreign aid /sabotage, the Big Corporations are not sending ships to grab some gold or cut deals with the Government, IMG is not claiming some land or just bending laws.

I think availability was one of the reasons, especially on such short notice. For example, I myself had no way to be there at the start of the siege window, and especially when it takes a few minutes at most to completely cap out the damage for the day, that makes it quite literally impossible for me to participate. It happens.
(Don't know what everyone else's reasons are but I think short notice is one of the main issues here. That and the admittedly unappealing nature of having to sit in Dublin for four hours straight four days in a row.)
I have successfully damaged the Molly objectives with a race engine Arrow whilst the whole enemy fleet was there. Can't we just say I won the event?
On a serious note, I was looking around and talking to quite a handful of people and most of them cited it to be an issue to free up time and especially so much time on such short notice. The whole thing being a pseudo-siege on rather low HP pobs probably wouldn't have gone smoothly even in a perfectly equal fight, since it's really just objective rushing considering it took 20 Mollys mere 3 minutes to reach the dmg cap of all 3 objectives of the first Task Force.
It feels more like the event would (and if it stays this way, will on Saturday) end up as: Mollys rush (generously calculated) 15 mins for Task Force #1, then log off. BAF would do the same for the Molly objective. Mollys again an hour later than for the Task Force #2. Three times a 15 mins of just one side rushing objective whilst the other one couldn't even kill them fast enough even in a perfect 20v20, feels flawed by design.
Didn't log for this, but it seems a bit rushed and a bit poorly thought out.
Why not have whole day supply events like in the old times - perhaps with an hourly delivery cap to prevent low-pop supplies rushing. That would enable multiple small skirmishes and escort gameplay to develop naturally.
Then, depending on the number of supplies that got through / ship losses have a big scaled siege during the weekend.
Yeah, was there for the start but the Brets were thoroughly outnumbered unfortunately, ended up being over pretty early because I was expecting more group-fights rather than being dragged into a duel immediately. I don't think this is any sign of deliberate throwing however. People just wanted to play the Molly side except it was most people lmao.
Cool idea, just relies a bit too much on people being organised which the Bretonian side just weren't or weren't able to, especially when Molly's etc. are already sat in system next to the objective. Not blaming anyone for that, just an observation.
There are advanced warnings about the start time, but if people aren't willing to equal it out then it's sorta over before it begins.
Okay so ive done some thinking, and some talking with a couple people.
Hegemon Only Brawl. Friday Evening, Dublin, Somewhere AWAY from Siege Bases. Time is yet to be decided, But I am certain that there's flexibility to do it for a "Window" of time. I wanted to do this for awhile, and as Barrier said, there aint probably gonna be a better time to do so than now, qhile the sieges are temprarily cancelled.
Bring Hegemons if you wanna shoot people during this mini-event. Observers may be allowed for the sake of it being Roleplay-Friendly for people, but respect the Hege Brawl and the Roleplay around it. (i will ask a couple staff to monitor so that there is some safety from randoms barging in and shooting the mini-event peoples.)
All IDs welcome, but Config IDs preferred please. Its fun, so getting blued and it counting for event points shouldnt matter.
More rules will be posted tomorrow if people find this agreeable (im too tired rn its late)

- Hegemons Brawl, Hegemons are only allowed ship for the brawl.
- Onlookers for Shady bets, Roleplay and the like are welcome, but NO INTERFERING with the Hege Brawl.
- Leave Dublin, or Dock on a station as a brawler? You forfeited in shame and are no longer a participant.
- InRP insulting and Shaming other combatants is allowed, but there is to be NO OORP HOSTILITY.
- Event ID participation encouraged, though I will allow others to participate in the SPIRIT OF FUN! (ZoI Matters, so no funny ideas with MND Hegemons and the like...)
- Fight to be conducted away from any and all defences, Off-plane if necessary to ensure no NPC or PoB interference.
- No Weapons Limits, Pure preference on Hegemon captains.
- Might have several Rounds, Will see how things go, depending on availability of people.
- MAY become a semi-regular occurrence in future, for FUN and ENJOYMENT. I mean, who doesn't like a little underworld gambling, lawless brawling and cheaper booze in-roleplay?
