Reminder to traders: plan for a new ID

personally i think this is a very bad idea.

My trade route stretches out all over Sirius, and if this happens i'm screwed unless i can find an ID that lets me go Kusari, Bretonia and Rhienland, dock at any of there bases and sell them.

(and don't worry it's a lawful route)

I know that Republican can go to all of the above houses.


Honestly, just find the trade rout you are going to do, and choose the ID that best fits it.

Rheinland -> Kusari = A Rheinland or Kusari corp. (except for Kruger minerals)

Bretonia -> Liberty + A Liberty or Bretonian corp.


This isn't rocket science people.

I'm actually a bit troubled by the fact zoners will be limited as well, since except for shooting nomads and keeping the peace at freeports, there isn't much to do but trading

Zoners are limited because otherwise, everyone who is interested in silently powertrading anywhere would just switch over to that ID.

Sadly, I don't think it's just you...

If you RP that you're a nice independant trader, what's really the problem? You can continue exactly what it is that you're doing, just buy the new Trader ID: Freelancer ID. All you have to do is downgrade your ship, in some cases.

So... the only thing that suffers is cargo space... That's not a big RP element last time I checked.:shok:

What part of the comments - you don't have to belong to a faction to use the house ID - and - house ID's are not restricted to house space - did you not get?

You're using the trader ID now with an advanced train? Fine - go buy a Bowex / BMM / Synth Food / Daunman / Kruger / IMG / IC ID for your train, and keep on playing. Pay attention to where you fly a little more closely is all - and you may want to actually consider role-playing your trader a bit more - that's the only change that you have to make.

No one is going to force you to sell your advanced train or go into a smaller ship - working on your RP? That's another story...

House corporation ships will not be limited to House space in any way. If they go through the territory of an enemy House (like Gateway going through Kusari or Samura going through Bretonia) there might be roleplay consequences like the KNF or BAF blowing them up, but no server rule or ID rules will restrict what systems corporations can travel through.

I'm talking about those who do RP a completely neutral trader. No ties. No ZoI. Buying a corp trading ID nixes that.
