The manta is too agile for it's armour rating, it's powerplant seems to be too powerful as well.
It can match (turn for turn) a mk2 LF, it can pretty much keep up raven claw without much trouble as well.
Also the manta seems to be able to maintain 4 codenames and a pair of class 9 guns for quite a while. So it's power-plant needs to be looked at.
In the hands for a very good pilot it would be unbeatable.
Heres some stats for comparison:-

As you can see it's got pretty good stats.

The sabre can't keep up with it, now I know it's not very agile to start with but come on. You can see the difference in armour (1,400).

Wrath 5/1 70 11500 67 Advanced Valkyre
Chimaera 6/0 70 12400 70 Advanced Dragon
Now these are mk 2 house VHFs.
The guardian has 600 less armour and wouldn't be able to keep up with the manta.
The wrath is as agile as a brick and it's armour is 1,500 less the the manta.
The chimaera has only 200 less armour and it would also be unable to keep up with the manta.
Raven Claw 8/0 60 8400 56 Agile very heavy fighter
Talon 6/1 70 9200 60 Agile heavy fighter
These are custom ships and their armour is 4,200 and 3,400 less then the manta and the manta can easily keep up with them.
So it's agility is way too high for it's armour rating, it needs to be less agile then it currently is, about as much as a chimaera or slightly less then a templar.
on the BH fighter, I've PVP'd in my Manta, I haven't noticed any over powered manuvering stats, it manuvers about like it's predicessor the Hammerhead, which is also a Very Heavy Fighter
As for the power supply not really what to say here since I fire my weapons in bursts anyways, I'll have to look at that.
@marauder;@DO: Re: Manta. I was to test that one myself but here's what I think:
Agility or armor needs to be reduced pretty much judging by the stats. There is a very good reason why the Hammerhead is so agile and doesn't have class 10 mounts.
As for a few things I've found out about the Raven's Talon:
Cockpit view is wrong (looks through the ship up or down, I don't know, instead of forward)
It's very agile for it's 13800 armor -- I suggest it lowered (around Talon or Ravenclaw armour value 9k+) and turn-rate a bit higher (quote Onyx: 'turns like a brick')
Infocard is wrong it should say 6/1 Guns/Turrets
Look at the powerplant but I think it'll be OK with the suggested changes

Another thing: was the hitbox (or whatever) problem on the Nephtys solved? It was too hard to hit in 4.80.
One more: Nova Antimatter Cannon shows up in 'Ammo' as '0' should that be visible at all?

Concerning D.O.s spotting of the BS flak turret in Rheinland, would this be a good one to
rebadge as a cruiser and make available elsewhere, with the balancing nerf of statistics ?

@marauder: the only reason i outmaneuvered you in your scimtar was because i was doing a reverse turn and then i rotated the opposite way to you and shot you on your way round. However, it does have alot of armour for its agility so i suggest 8000-9000 as that would compensate for it. Dont turn down the agility though because......its my opinion that you shouldnt :D .

seperate bug: i doubt anyone will use the Hammerhead now but here goes.
The turrets doesnt fire directly backwards, only too the sides like 30 degrees from exactly rear of the craft. That was in the last Beta.
And can we get clarification on these lvl 8 slots on transports (or was that the intention cause if it was....all pirates beware hehehe). If it wasnt, ill unequip the missile turrets straight away and save them for my and others of the SSO| gunboats.
The order gunboat turret does 4000/2000 damage at a firerate of 4.00 and energy usage of 4000.
I first thought that it was one of the new rebalanced weapons of cap Ships, but as i explored other stations discovered that BS weps didn't change at all. :(
Logically, this turret should be rebalanced. But as a personal preference i would like that all bs weps are rebalanced according to the power of this turret. Would make BS's *real* BS, not just big clumsy and expensive fighters.

I just found out why the manta is so good. It is very small from the front or the rear, making it hard to hit. I now doubt what i sed earlier about the manta tho the armour is a tinsy but high mabey down by 500-1000?
