I have a sneaking feeling that the Kearsarge is part of the problem. The main issue is with me not wanting to take orders from LN when they are completely contradictory to what we need to keep Liberty mostly pirate free. Yes, I have engaged fighters when they fly directly in front of my ship. I dont actively seek them out. Yes I did attack an order tagged pirate IDed corsair gunboat named Kaiser Soze after a different Indy got pilots from him. Do we not attack known pirates if they agree to be nice as long as we are there? Yes I did kill the same gunboat when it came back a few min later with an Osiris for backup that I also destroyed. Oh and yes I was part of a group that destroyed a Corsair Cruiser for not leaving our space no matter how many times we ordered them to leave our space, even offering an escort.
I have been called a cap whore among other things many times for engaging a pack or bombers or singling out a gunship for destruction. Personally it does not bother me one bit. The LN can PVP me till they drop, I will not join the 522nd to get around the ban. They know my feelings when it comes to their members. I will continue to be in Liberty the same way I have always been. If the LN need help, I will show up guns blazing like I always have. If they attempt to destroy my ship because I will not submit to their orders well they better bring a lot of backup, I dont get destroyed easily. My loyalty to Liberty remains as strong as ever, no matter how many times you call me a traitor Talon.

From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship.

Well, more cap/PvP-whoring doesn't fix cap/PvP-whoring. If Liberty stopped fielding so many capital ships, maybe the pirates will stop matching it...
And there is actually a reason we get so many "OMG, I got capwhored by the navy!!" topics and far less "OMG, I got capwhored by pirates in Liberty!!" topics. There's obviously an issue that needs fixing, and previous efforts haven't worked.
The LNS had room to adapt, and take a look at how they were doing things wrong. They didn't for the most part, and now they're getting hit harder. Desperate times call for desperate measures, right?

Not everythig, but maybe more things. I don't have much choice. I guess I have been KOS for some time for defending my self a while back. Funny how you can fight side by side with the LN and that not come up for months. Some of you have been pretty cordial so far, good work. Goes a long way in solving my "problem".

I can't count how many times over the past week I've seen multiple gunboats come into NY and basically rape everyone because there was no capital support for us fighters. Maybe the reason that there are fewer topics about "omg!!! pirates r so laym dey cap-ed mes!" is because instead of whining about it on the forums, we grit our teeth, bear it, and fight as best we can. So don't act like they just bring caps in to counter caps. These were mind you, all independent pirates, so, maybe the pirates need something similar?
And again, as it was months ago when I was playing here first, the debate is still raging about who cap-whores who more. At least we don't have the nightly BS/cruiser/gunboat corsair indie-invasion hordes anymore.

I don't deny it happening. It happens everywhere (well, not everywhere. *coughkusaricough*), but telling the pirates they whine about it while the lawfuls don't? Do you know how many times there has been an impressive pirate force who has serious success, kills a few lawful little guys, then the Milwaukee or other major Liberty capital ships come out in full force, utterly annihilating the so-called cap-whoring pirate fleet? I'm not flaming these instances, because it makes sense for major Naval firepower to counter such a threat, but you see what I'm getting at.
The pirates -do- use capital ships more often than not because the Navy uses just that. Capital ships. After this order has gone down, I'm not saying the pirates in caps will stop. No, far from, they'll probably whore them even more. But my point is that there's a reason you see these things.

Funny, how many times have I been whined to in PM by lawfuls (even factionalized, they're no better sometimes) about "missile-whoring" and such. Oh yeah, I use two missile turrets on my 522 GB, and they're sucky ones. I do believe the lawfuls don't "whine" because they know how hypocritic it would be.
Oh yeah, and bringing real issues to the table over fairplay isn't always "whining". Keep that in mind.

Meh, "stuff" happens, I'm just as happy dogfighting as I am ripping into an OC dessie from it's blindspot. I just see this measure as trying to fix a broken fine-china plate with a sledgehammer instead of superglue.
PS: I do however miss my Bretonian gunboat flown by a bounty hunter, was fun times RPing that thing from flying hunk of junk to shark of the spacelanes. I will rebuild the Gyrfalcon.... and then I'll hunt me some gunboats. :evil grin:

I believe it was you who, from the bridge of the Kearsarge, tried to RP -Killing- as in ending the life of, a member of the LN. You have, on multiple occasions shot at lone unlawful fighters with that ship (I should know, I was one of them) and has displayed contempt at every turn for the [LN].
You have shown yourself to care little about other people's gameplay and have been throughtly disrespectful to a rather decent member of the community and LN.
So on that note, yes you are a part of the problem.

Anyone who thinks capital ships are necessary to destroy gunboats, or any other sort of capital ship is spending their time flying with the wrong group of people. I fondly remember bringing down the LSF flagship dreadnought with one bomber, one VHF, and one LF. The 2 gunboats who were on our side died almost immediately.
"Gunboat spam" is easily countered by fighters, if the fighter pilots know what they're doing.
