Matt. You asked if you were a part of the issue and I responded honestly and truthfully. So yes I suppose that was personal, however it was only in responce to your questioning which invited the responce I gave.

You didn't respond to the issues raised there in any way. How is attempting to kill off another players char in RP in any way respectful?

Ok.I have read the following posts.I have listened to the arguments, both for and against.

NOW HERE THIS.(respectfully rips soapbox out from under Talon)

"What we have here, is failure to communicate."

Truer words were never spoken. From what I have observed in Liberty,it is astounding.
And remember...not every ship I pilot has Gafwmn in the name....so I see and hear more than people might think.
Now,I wil mention no names...there is no need for that.
I have see LN tagged players log in,see that New York is over-run with unlawfuls, and quickly log out and into their own unlawful char. And I can understand why.It sux being on the losing side in a fight. We all can agree on that.Thats where the Indies step up to the plate. They fill the gaps in the lawful coverage, come to the call of traders under attack by pirates, and generally try to keep the peace.
Problem is that they have few,if any, guide lines for what they need to do or rules to follow. Some are in-game, but not in the forums,so they have no idea about what is posted in there.

Thats were the responsibility of the more senior members of the LN(and by senior i mean players that have been here awhile),or Indies, such as myself, falls to help guide them in their RP,and what they should be doing. They pilot the big LABC because they are tired of getting ganged by a small fleet of pirates in bombers/fighters and gunboats,or the occasional OC Dessi that wanders into Liberty space, or the huge smuggler coming into new york from where-ever that just laughs at the poor pilot in a fighter that can't stop him,rp or no rp.

And on the other hand.....
Face it...the size and frequency of unlawful raids into New York.Think about it.The Navy would start blasting any rock bigger than a lunch-box to lessen the frequency of such raids. No more bases in Liberty for the pirates to operate from in the current size/scope that they enjoy now.

So..it comes down to this.I whole heartedly agree something needs to be done.BUT,remember, this is a cause and effect situation. You are dealing with the effect..............but what about the cause?

Something for all the faction leaders to ponder upon.

For what its worth....thats my 2 credits worth.

carefully dusts off Talon and props back up on box...............

"Gunboat spam" is easily countered by fighters, if the fighter pilots know what they're doing.

So, two fighters versus a rogue gunboat packing missile turrets?

Uh-huh, that's a real easy kill right there.

Also, just a note to the LN,

two dreads, a cruiser, a gunboat, three bombers and a VHF....

vs:

LABC and HF

Pot, Kettle? We were starting an RP line with the civil war split, yet you outmobbed us and began with threats of sanctions and OORP barbs. All simply because things weren't going the way you wanted them to. You have shown the quality of your character, and it isn't very pleasing.

Take a guardian, follow the lawful weapon restrictions, and beat a gunboat that's packing missiles.

Then come back and talk about it.

We didn't threaten you with a sanction, we simply told you not to re-engage after you were destroyed, think before you make an accusation, I have screenshots of the entire conversation as I know some people try to exploit situations. So, after the ship we destroyed stayed right next to us, the ships who killed him, I believe we were quite reasonable. As for bringing a lot of ships. There was the Providece, a BS, 2 BC's and you in the system that were hostile to LN. So yeah, was pretty much normal.

Jihad, I think I posted for everyone to see in flood about executing Vincent's character. Here is the link to what I had to say.

I think you need to get past that.

You boys take every slight personally. You are acting like teenages boys about this, and that is the Very reason I will openly defy you at every corner when giving "orders." Like I said, I am going to love this new or not so new RP with the LN. It is going to be FUN for me, not some way to stroke my ego. See you in game.

Matt

A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship.

I fail to see what's wrong with the pirates winning now and then. It's being made out like "Oh crap! There's no indies now, so it will only fall on the biggest player faction in the game to take care of defense! We're all gonna' die!"

It's a game, remember. If lawfuls can't take care of a pirate problem now and then, the actual wellbeing of Liberty doesn't actually suffer. And the LN are actually in the best position to defend themselves.
