well as former guildmaster I am quite offended by the utter emptiness of this declaration.
- Bretonia has no access to this system
- Bretonia has no friendlies in this system where they could at least base their privateers
- Bretonia lies on the ground stabbed yet tells you that it wants your money while others keep pushing the blade deeper into it
I personally think that its a rather bad RP for stated reasons. The fact that there aren't any gallic factions allowed yet who surely would have wanted to say some words on this matter as well (e.g.: gtfo, die!) tops the patheticness of this "RP" off. I'm actually asking my self why anyone bothered to reply in that diplomatic's thread (with the exception of tenacity who keeps spamming nonsense anyway). I also expect this to have a rather negative impact on upcoming relations with both CR and IMG and maybe even Outcasts. Also, the name of a system couldn't be more irrelevant.
People don't seem to understand that saying something doesn't make it true, especially in a wartime context. A well presented post is screamed about as being 'OMGOPPRESSION', when noone stopped to think that maybe it's just a post which woud be considered typical of a wartime government.
Also, people seem to be forgetting that the IMG aren't leaning towards Kusari... they still operate from Cardiff, and supposedly aren't happy with Kusari's annexing of the Taus.
My only concern is that the Council (whoever they are) was going to go along with this.
I should hope that they 'reserve the right' to reconsider any agreement they have made in the future - especially if it leads to major conflict in the area.
If the BAF intends to enforce this lockdown, camping in Orkney, will they also decide to have a little fun camping 'Hippietown' along the way?
There IS RP being done with the Council (such that it is) to relieve the initial hasty lockdown. Maybe if people stopped bitching and actually payed attention they would know that.
And the Privateers (and rest of the BAF, if necessary) have a base less than 5 minutes away from Orkney to base off of.
Let the RP develop please people, before making sweeping OORP generalisations. There is no OORP reason why we can't carry out diplomacy relating to Orkney, though there may be plenty of in RP reasons. But we might, in RP, overcome those. If you object, then try to stop us in RP, either in game or on the forums; there is no need for an OORP debate, not least because all the objections people keep raising like "you are pinned down in Leeds" or "you have no base there" are RP reasons, not OORP reasons.
