The gunboat was made (by the modeler) and included as Gaian GB. Unless there's some extremely good reason to change that (like all Gaian bases and NPCs suddenly beeing removed from the game). I don't think it will "removed" and given to GCs just because you want that.

It's not "just because I want that". It's because I think it makes sense. Just because it was originally modelled as Gaian GB, doesn't mean Gaian GB is what it is, was and always will be, amen - look at the Orca. Went from being Rogue to BHG ship. Not quite so different from this case.
And the modeller, FYI, is Jinx, and we've been discussing the matter throughout this whole thread.

Orca was always BHG.
The very old BHG GS which used starwars model went from Rogues to BHG because they used 2 more ships of the same design (corellian corvettes)

Oh I REALLY didn't know that..... ever since I was doing the stats for it some time in september. ;)
What Jinx is saying in other word is that she made it as Gaian GB and doesn't see any problem with that and that it's partly meant to encourage people to play Gaians.

GC using Outcast GB is of course another possibility, but the GC wouldn't take it as their own ship, instead just using it like they have been the BD GB.

She also said she'd be willing to drop it from the mod with NLH's consent, and I have suggested to her that a few design tweaks could have it looking much more Kusari.

Dragons who owned a big asteroid and some red painted fighters get a battleship, a gunship, a cruiser by .84... hum....
in any event, the gaian gunboat does look extremely GC aesthetic - if we look at the fighter. I see absolutely nothing bretonian in it if not for the bretonian texture tbh.
So the Gaians don't get left out in the cold, Ktayn and I cooked up a replacement for their Claymore:
"Star Shepherd" (//name can be changed) Class Gaian Combat/Rescue Yacht
The Star Shepherd was developed by a group of Gaian engineers who clung relentlessly to their environmental ideals, upon hearing of the relentless poaching of Gaia's unique wildlife by unscrupulous black marketeers. The Cambridge-educated team eventually came up with a design that combined ample storage space for rescued animals with the firepower needed to liberate them from those holding them captive. Sadly, most modern Gaians have since ignored the true, noble purpose of the Star Shepherd, instead using it to commit acts of conventional piracy against innocent traders.
Basically, it'd have all the appropriate GB stats and equipment, a boost to its cargo hold, but a hit to its handling. It fits the original purpose of the Gaians more, IMHO.
