I'm not going to fly a transport (unless I make a junker pirate), I can't use it for events then.

Mostly the fact that everyone seems to use those or bombers. That, and conceptually speaking, I just prefer cargo over cash - there are many supplies a pirate base simply cannot easily get without taking them by force. Sure, you could buy them from the Junkers or Zoners, though probably at vastly inflated prices...

To further expand, they have decent weapons, and if you ever try to pirate someone who's experienced, or is stubborn/ calling for backup, they are a good choice to scare the said person into paying. It's a viable option for intimidation.

In my opinion, asking for cash makes more RP sense. I'm going to start RP'ing the transfer of cash through "accounts" like banks essentially.

i.e. "Transfer 2mil from your bank account now. Comply, and this can be non-violent."

I don't believe in the said "well it's RP to take cargo." Yes, I do take cargo sometimes in my Slave Liner, but otherwise, cash is good to ask for, because it buys all the necessities.

I'm actually being drawn in by the concept of taking cargo and selling on bases to make a profit. Great RP, only problem is that you have a short supply of bases to sell it at.

Asking for cash is perfectly good RP, because in essences, it is the universal good that can obtain all others. Besides, it allows traders to continue on with their run and make money to carry on. Take their cargo just leaves the trader in a worse position. You can make far more profit asking for money, then taking cargo in terms that the trader actually makes a little. They just do the work for you.

Forgive me if that example is poorly worded. I hope you got the point though.

Edit:
>You take 2 mil from trader
>Trader continues run and makes 4mil
>Trader buys goods for 1mil and makes 3 mil
>Stop the trader again, take 2 mil: now the trader made only 1mil
>They stop again. Trader makes 4 mil again.
>Buys goods for 1mil and has 4mil in profit
>You pirate and the Trader has 2mil in profit
------
See what I'm getting at?

Its more like "Ahoy, give me 2 mil of ye plunder, OR I be a firing upon yer vessel"

Maybe. But if I see a transport carrying a full load of food, it makes more sense to simply take the food directly than to take the money to buy the food.

I see someone with a load of some non-essential commodity, and yeah, I'll just go for the cash. Unless I know a place nearby that I can sell it for a lot, anyway. But, if they're carrying something we can use, why buy what they're "giving" us?

From my experience, all you need is Bomber, Train CD , supernova and patience.

Note that patience is most important thing. Sometimes you are ganked so you have to change pirating position. Sometimes its slow so you have to wait alot, so it would be good if you have some friends with you.
