Rescaling the Kusari Destroyer

The Kusari Destroyer. The infamously small Cruiser that causes a variety of balancing problems. While not terribly imbalanced as it is, this ship is responsible for holding back the entire Cruiser ship class. Any improvements to Cruisers make the Kusari Dessie an uber pwn ship.

I strongly believe it is in the best intrest of this mod to upscale the Kusari Destroyer, it will benefit the entire Cruiser Class by allowing the Mods more working space.

But it's a vanilla ship, you say? We can't edit it you say? Is this a mod or not? Many things from Vanilla have been altered to improve game play. I believe this will also.

These size comparisons are against the Bretonian Dessie, the Kusari Dessie's most common opponent, and common light cruiser, the Liberty Siege Cruiser

Note that a x3 upscale is far too big of an increase. x2.5 is the max I could achieve while still keeping the ship looking a realistic size.

Someone present a reason as to why it shouldn't resized when there are no technical limitations preventing that from happening.

A reason that isn't utter trash and doesn't involve pulling things out of rear-ends like that junk I saw about the Sabre.

A reason that can not be reduced to "OLOL IT'S A VANILLA SHIP" either.

From what I'm seeing there, the 2x upscale makes the Kusari dessie slightly larger actually.

Moot point, it's not up to me or anyone else not on the dev/balance team. Ashes you touched on this and I agree that if it does get upscaled in size it would also need an upscale in armor and turret arcs. Still I voted no on changing the size, why fix what isn't broken.

Anyone that thinks it's broken, try flying it against other people in destroyers/cruisers. Try flying it against larger caps for that matter.

Ench I know what you can do in the Kusari destroyer. Honestly I don't find that as any kind of proof of it being overpowered. You can kill just about anything in just about any ship. Any ship in game with really good agility can be turned into an epic pwn machine by a pilot like Ench. For us normal people that aren't genetically modified to kick ass, it's a different story.

Nope. The Kusari Dessie still has a smaller side and front profile, their side profiles are almost identicle at x2 scaling.

why fix what isn't broken.

Because it breaks everything around it. The Bret Gunboat, the Dragon Cruiser, practically every other Cruiser. I wouldn't be surprised if every other Cruiser in this game was balanced around the Kusari Dessie.

Why treat the symptoms when you can treat the cause it's self?

I never said the Kusari Dessie was broken. I'm sure it's balance is fine. But it's size is effecting everything around it. Upscaling it will not break the ship, it will only change it's balance. It might even make it better. So what's the harm?

Balance it in another way instead of changing it's size in a completely silly and OOC way.

As I said in my invis'd post, if this was submitted as a finished ship a month or two ago, we might have seen it come in and replace the smaller current Kusari Destroyer. But at the stage cruiser balance is at now, I'd put the chances of that happening pretty low unless Mjolnir gets behind it.

As to my vote? Haven't voted. What's going to happen is going to happen anyway. No one looks at forum votes.

Oh, yes, I am completely biased as [KNF] as well. I am also biased as ]bd[. Point of humour, I actually have a BD cruiser, but not a KNF destroyer.
