If you want my honest opinion..

If I see an Order Juggernaut, or any non-Zoner Juggernaut when I'm my Aquilon, it's getting shot until it's in small itty-bitty pieces.

Ship of Myth and Legend, as has been said. We keep them hidden and the few we make are kept for ourselves, never given away. The Order wouldn't have the chance to purchase one as we'd never offer or agree to sell it.

We don't use the Osiris or the Geb, you don't use the Juggernaut or the Aquilon. You do and you get shot, simple-as.

Find a couple of hundred Zoner engineers who are willing to spend several months working on the ship and don't mind that it could be seen as a political statement by the Houses if discovered and don't mind that the Order is likely to reverse engineer it. Get yourself a suitable shipyard away from where other Zoners are going to interfere with the construction and away from Liberty forces, Bounty Hunters, Nomads and so on, find people to set up and keep the biodomes running. Find about a hundred to two hundred competent crewmen, at least some of which will need to be intimately familiar with Zoner technology but also willing to spend months/years living with the Order. I guess there might still be sufficient living space for a hundred or so Order personnel who won't function as crew, but it'd be cramped.

Then, finally, find a hiding place for your Juggernaught, then get caught up with by a bunch of annoyed Zoners who have followed a tracking device planted by the engineers on the Juggernaught, smack you for using the Juggernaught as a weapon of war (because, really, that's what it has become by now - a military base), board it - not a hope of you fighting back, since those Zoners crewing it will probably just disable your engines - take it over, thank you for paying for the supplies that needed to come from House space, and bring it back to one of the 'Zoner' systems to make a new Freeport from.

If you can do all of the first paragraph and avoid all of the second, then, sure, get a Juggernaught. If you can't, then no Juggernaught.

Seriously - we just went through a serious round of contacts due to their being a Zoner ID'd Mako. Let's not get into it where we have to attack an Order ID'd Juggy - because if you strictly go by the tech chart, there COULD be a BHG ID'd Juggy.

that would be one of those very hard decision.

on the one hand, zoner juggernauts are more than battleships. - they are a symbol of the ( hidden ) military power of the zoners. - i have described it in other threads before - the power of the ship is enhanced by myth and hearsay.

no one really saw a juggernaut in real action yet - or should have. - they are a bit like the flying dutchman. - you know its there ( that means, you re totally convinced that its there ) - and every tale makes it stronger and more powerful.

right now, its powerful enough to be of consideration for the corsairs not to simply "harvest" FP9. - and the corsairs wouldn t just back off from a common battleship, even if it was a very good one. - but they would back off from a myth - from uncertainty.

and there is the crux. - if the juggernauts saw common action, their power could easily be measured - and their greatest strength ( uncertainty ) would fall away ... leaving a very good, but rather normal battleship.

that doesn t mean that juggernauts must not see any combat at all. - but one must choose wisely - a time when it is literally "inevitable" to use it... in a situation when using it can mean success and not using it certain doom.

for zoners ... most conflicts and tasks can be done with much smaller ships - easily... and the capabilities aren t even depleted. - zoners have many destroyers... .

there is a quote from babylon 5:

"when you re in a war, you have countless small weapons, some medium weapons... and for the very desperate times, when all your weapons have run out.... you have very few BIG weapons"

the juggernaut is such a "big weapon". - everony would try not to use it at ALL COSTS... untill there is no choice anymore. ( that doesn t mean "not showing it or flying around" - even a myth needs to show itself from time to time to refresh the memories )


so even if - by the rules - the tech chart is "green" - you can be asured that the zoners ( at least a majority of those on the forum ) would be rather ... displeased.

from the orders point of view - a juggernaut is a LOT more expensive. - zoners have a huge economical power. - they can afford to build them, and even for zoners, they are quite expensive - not only to build, but also to operate.


but all those arguments aside - i m always open for RP. - so i wouldn t point blank say "it cannot happen" - but it certainly would be something that caused more than ripples within the zoner community.

for your RP, think of what i wrote about the myth and its power. - if the RP applied to such a ship had the risk to destroy that myth, zoners would be very displeased. - and a misused juggernaut weighs a lot more than a misused zoner gunboat.

Gee, we'd be glad to help with an evacuation!

But.. sell you one? Would require a process.

The TAZ had to jump through a few Diplomatic "hoops" to purchase five Hathors. We made a Diplomatic overture, stated what the ships would be used for, and threw in a 50 Million "surcharge" per ship to boot.

So...

Apply, through Diplo channels, the CoZ will discuss/debate the issue, and give you an answer.

What's good for the goose, eh?

The idea of having a Zoner Juggernaught seems like a very good idea, it would be a great ship for the Order to live on whilst trying to set up another home. If the Zoners could'nt sell the Order one, couldn't they position one close to Toledo to help the evacuation?

Ok, from what I saw in the posts..its almost impossible..and I guess that if minor is ever taken over, the zoners could dispatch one to help and all..so, thanks everyone for the tips, and...please.. no one ever try to do what i did:D
I guess i'll stick to a normal Zoner Guard ID/Tag - Zoner juggernought
