' Wrote:hmm i really dont get all the zoners screaming for more firepower and fighting enemys, in over a year playing on three zoner characters i only was involved into fights two times. once i had to shoot down a nomad trial character in his lf who kept buzzing around the freeport killing zoner npcs and another i got instashot upon by a keeper cruiser undocking from the freeport where i needed to redock my talon very fast. other than that never needed any firepower to solve a situation regardless if im in the juggy or the talon or even the whale. most people listen to you if you just try hard enough to convince them to obey the nfz.
so my preference in case of the conference would also go into the direction of more cargo space instead of more turrets and power. in just makes more sense in rp too that the zoners would built a heavily armored and agile supply ship with loads of space instead of going for heavy firepower.
I completely agree here. More cargo and less agility seems like more of a Zoner thing, due to their inclination toward trading. I haven't taken a look at the Zoner gunboat yet, as I haven't seen one at the bases I've been to, but the CD spamming makes me wonder if the GB even has a CM on it? If not, then it really is pretty useless. I'll have to get a peek at one soon, I'm in an area where I should find it soon enough.
And hold on... a KEEPER CRUISER was undocking from a FREEPORT?? AND fired upon a Zoner after being docked there??? WHAT!?! I hope you took screen shots and turned this guy in for OORP in a major way. Keepers aren't supposed to be docked at Human bases, Zoner or otherwise. To fire upon a zoner right after being docked at one is the height of OORP and hypocrisy!

It was probably just a Keeper-induced telepathic hallucination, Charlie. Maintain low cones.
If it didn't get documented, it didn't "happen". And, if it was some time ago, I'm sure it's been dealt with.
happened long time ago, dealt with ingame via pm without anyone getting sanctioned, just the way more problems should be solved on the server. i just mentioned it to give an idea that i never had any need for more firepower as zoner as i got into firefights only twice.
"When the Zoners constructed their gunboat, a more offensive variant prototype was developed at the same time. This design was then secretly shared with the Order"
So the Zoners designed it, and then SHARED this design with the Order.
Zoners should therefore still be building it.
And also, the whole 'Zoners are neutral so they dont need well armed ships' argument is completely bogus. Neutrality isnt some concrete and self-supporting thing, it needs backup,
In short, they need the capabilities to ward of any possible hegemonic force and to retain control over their own destiny.
More to the point, zoners operate some of the most advanced and extensive research facilities in Sirius. With that kind of talent on tap, why on earth would they build an inferior ship!?
What I would ideally like is for the Conference to get a cargo bay boost (which would actually make it a worthwhile step-up from the Dromedary), and have the Hathor also as a 2nd Zoner (and Order, obviously) gunboat , used more in fleet operations and freeport defence.

Neutral?
Nutrality is useless in galliaberty.
I know GB's go " OLOLOLOLLOLLONeutrality ma @$$, ima kill u and sell ur body on FP."
And Gallia is hostile to all sirians. ANd THey have REALLY nice ships
Zoners made their gunboat, and then designed an offensive one. A ship ment for 100% for killing fighters and bombers. Of course they had no need for such a ship and shared the design with the Order. The Order solely produces the ship and no one else. I forgot if we also had in mind that the designs were given to the Order, but back when I wrote up the infocards for the Order ships etc. I talked with Jinx about the Hathor and we agreed upon the more defensive-offensive variants. Zoners keep the defensive one and the Order gets the offensive one.
The ship is supposed to show a partnership between the two factions. There were other ships in design to show similarities between the Order and the Zoners to show that they were in fact allies and trustworthy enough to make such a transaction.
Anyways, in regards to getting one, use diplomatic means, quite a few are flying under the Zoner tag right now. Although I still don't understand why Zoners would want a ship that was designed for nothing except killing fighters and bombers. That was the idea behind the Hathor after all. A slaughtering machine with it's mind set only on killing.
