Sure, you arent slapped around for "Admin-Abuse" but as tenacity said, I could find at least 10 people in every faction, From Zoner to Aegiera that have sanctionable offenses. That needs to be fixed...
This is definitely something worth mentioning... members tend to be more favoriting then Admins, so the admins should probally pick the new mods/admins.

Come on! Be free!

My head is cool, baby. It's my fingers that are on fire.

That said, while I would love to be a mod, I am clearly far too unpopular to get voted in.

In such case, I support the current admins taking a vote!

And if that fails, then I nominate myself as the only person who gets to decide whether I become a mod or not!

And if that fails...aw crap.

The boys upstairs will pick whoever they think will do the job best, if they decide to do any picking at all, which, suffice to say, will probably not be me, will definitely not be Tenacity (which I think he knows and accepts as much as I do), but hopefully will not be most of the other names put forward, either (bluntness and honesty are better than tact and hidden agendas). While Discovery as a whole needs to choose its Admins the Moderation Team has been primarily selected by Admins and no-one but, and that's how I'd prefer it to remain. After all, a Moderator is nothing but a glorified, underpaid janitor; a position that needs filling, certainly, but not one that need be voraciously fought over. Jeez, people, this isn't like a soccer team or something.

Do we need more? I don't see too many flame fests getting out of control around here.

And while a laid back approach to admining might not seem the most efficient, a vicious rulemongerer will create a state of fear amongst players that is no fun to play in.

I'm against everyone that's been mentioned so far, for the following reasons:

Some don't have the right temperament.
Some, I don't trust with more power than a C battery.
Some, while generally nice enough people, I don't think can handle the stress.

We're not fighting over the great power to ban whoever we don't like, but the ability to reduce the stress on the current mods and admins. (At least I am)

(I like this method, no names.)

Anything I say is not intended as offensive, and to try and deliberately misinterpret it as such would be an attempt at trolling via misrepresentation.

It's not a conspiracy, it's localised bias. They're not intelligent enough to form a conspiracy.

I say we take the newest player on the server, teach him the rules, and make him a mod.

Think about it- he won't have any biases towards or against factions or other players.

viola!

Im against Eppy. Not impatial. I dont know Exile, ut if SWift says it, its probably true.

Ok... he is been aiming for it for so long...

Swift has the right personality for an admin.
Vain? Yes.
Can be annoying with his unlimited patience and impartiality? Yes.
Has he been aiming for it and wants positions of power? Yes.

But... he would be a good amin, and is mature and dedicated enough. You dont have to like him.

Probabyl everyone would agree on Zapp, but I got the impression he wouldnt want it. Not Hack or Boss. Too hot headed, not impartial.

' Wrote:Perhaps the problem is Cool Heads, ever think of that? Seems that in many cases our current admin/moderator team is too reserved in taking action against the scum of the server. Perhaps we would be better served by those who arent afraid to slap the idiots around.

Who are 'the scum of the server'? Names!

Tenacity, you do good work on the dev team and are a very creative person, but admin? Too self centered. And hot headed. Sorry.:P
