Not a good way to start the night. The men were nice enough, though, and I managed to swindle them into letting me through the entire night for a million more. Could do without them completely, though.
Anyway, quiet flight aside from that. Wonder what the ALG will do with all these goods...

RE: Resignation
Greetings, Gentlemen.
It is with deep regret that I must submit my resignation to Gateway Interstellar.
My recent lengthy absence was due to the death of my Mother, the last surviving member of my Family. The arrangement of the Funeral and burial, combined with the grief that I have been feeling has meant that I could not continue my work at Gateway.
I wish to roam around for a while, and try to find my place in the universe. Perhaps a lengthy dose of whim will help clear my head.
Please contact me if any recompense is required.
Thank You for your support during my time within this company.

RE: Retirement
Greetings Dear Friends,
As you all know, I have been on indefinite leave for some time. I have been considering whether to continue on with my responsibilities, and as most of you know, I have decided to retire from Gateway leadership. Mr. Charles Dee will be taking on the responsibilities of Chief Executive Officer, and I hope you will show him the same dedication you have shown me.
Allow me to formally - if belatedly - express my sincere admiration and appreciation for each of you and your efforts since reorganizing the company some time ago. I have greatly appreciated your hard work, dedication, and loyalty both to the company and to me. I am humbled by that and am very honored to call you all my friends.
At this point, my retirement from Gateway leadership does not mean my retirement from trading. I'll not be lounging on Curacao, as tempting as that might be. I have started a small firm of my own called Independent Trade Services. We are an organziation of expert traders, each of whom affiliates with a different major trade organization for the purposes of sharing trade expertise and knowledge as well as assisting those organizations with whom we affiliate. I will, of course, be maintaining my Gateway affiliation. I have rechristened my Shire the ITS|Trafalgar. You may see others of our firm out and about under various affiliations as well. As always, feel free to call upon us at need, and I will be particularly watchful of Gateway vessels.
I hope to keep in touch with you, and even to see you in space. Until then, may the solar winds be at your backs, and may you continue in safe and fruitful travels.

A sad day boss, guess I shouldn't call ye that anymore, eh? A decision that has been on the books for a while now, as ye mentioned. Dee's a good man, as he's shown, a good man and good for the company. He's already got my support, as a friend, and as an employee... Hah, odd as that is ta say.
I'm sure I can safely say 'at we'll all miss ye Alisdair, yer leadership and care, even for those who'd take our credits. Showed me I still 'ad a fair bit ta learn when it comes ta caring for others.
Keep safe, and fly well, and keep in toch eh?

RE: Trade Report
Hello everyone, hope you are all well.
Been a while since my last report and im afraid this isnt a good one.
In NY today i was stopped by an Outcast Trident who asked for tax, which i refused to pay and thought i would barter the lad down on price, but too late it seems as he and another couple of bad guys with him opened fire. It took a while to get me but the amount of fire was just too much. Pirates and their cap armour eh!
My crew is safe and well on New York while the GlenCoe is being repaired. I, however, sustained a few injuries which will keep me off the trade lanes for a few weeks.
Fly safe.
Calum out

RE: Trade Report
Today wasn't the best of days. I can admit that from the start. Well, at the start, I was having a fine conversation with a fellow shipper outside Planet Cambridge. After this, a Corsair appeared. In an Eagle fighter, but a Corsair none-the-less. He didn't talk much, but seemed intent on making the docking ring commit war-crimes through friendly fire.
Well, I outsmarted him. Turning the ship to the side and pitching to and fro seemed to confuse him, and he was chased off quite quickly. I continued to Dublin with the Pharmaceuticals I had received a contract for. Nothing happened on the way, picked up some gold, and, lo and behold, the Corsair was waiting at New London! What daring, he had. Well, calling the Armed Forces lads in Dublin, I underwent the same maneuvers, and upon the Armed Forces' arrival, the bloke fled.
Continuing to Fort Bush, as the contract stated, all was clear until I sighted a Rogue outside Riverside Station. I thought I might be able to slip past him and call for help in the New York system, but, a Hacker Gunship was lurking behind Planet Mojave. He demanded a meager amount of credits from me, but, so close to the refuge of Riverside, I fled. Was it worth it? Well, I lost 500 units of cargo in a destroyed Cargo Pod, so, probably not.
All in all:
Quote:Pharmaceuticals (Cambridge Research Center) --> Battleship Hood 2005500 profit
Pirate Attack, loss of: 500 units Gold; 1 Blue Cargo Pod; Hull Repairs 980000 loss
Cargo Pod Scraps 25000 profit
Well, as I said to the trader at the start, worse things have happened. I've my ship and my life, so, not such a bad day.

Hello everyone, hope you are all well,
The GlenCoe has been repaired and has had its armour upgraded to Cap Mrk 6 so it should put off a few more pirates now.
My crew and i had a shakedown run from NY to New London with some Lux Foods then a Pullman run to Rhineland. All went well with no pirate activity to report.
The GlenCoe performed well with all repairs checked out.

Still stuck in Liberty. A little closer than Fort Bush, this time, but, West Point isn't that great. I left Fort Bush this evening with Luxury Consumer Goods. I spotted four red fellows in California.
One left to go fetch a freighter to take my goods. I then looked at the lane integrity and saw it to be operational. I reverse thrusted back into the lane, and, well, here I am at West Point. Good thing, too.

Finally out of Liberty!
God, I came to West Point again, and I met up with a Liberty Navy fellow. I asked him for an escort. He agreed. We made it to the gate, and he said he had to respond to a distress signal. Well, I had gone too far to turn back, I docked with the California Jump Gate, and came to Cortez without interruption. The flight to Edinburgh followed suit.
After I had offloaded at the Shetland, I made my way back to Leeds for Ship Hull Panels. unfortunately, there was a Molly waiting there. He didn't seem to know our agreement, so I did pay him one million credits. Not that bad.
After this, the trip to Southampton was nice and quiet. Nothing to speak of.

Mining Machinery --> Birmingham Station 635,450 credit profit
Terraforming Gases --> Planet California Minor 1,011,350 credit profit
