I dont get it.
What I meant was that because there are so many pirates (sometimes three one the one route) people are just F1'ing because they are purely sick being pirated multiple times and not making any profit at all. I admit that some people do it just to get out of paying once but I believe there has been an increase because pirate numbers have increased.
That's better, really is.
Hiring escorts should work. It's the duty of the house police to escort you I guess.
Also, try smaller but more evasive transports.
The message is printed out if any other ships are within 5km of the disconnecting ship at the first moment of disconnect.
There are some situations where the message is not printed out. Just had a wee look at the code and there might be (almost certainly are) several more situations I didn't think of originally. This could explain the behaviour you observed.
I offer kudos to the person who can tell me to how replicate this behaviour in game - i.e. no "XXX is attempting to engage cloak" message when you disconnect in space near other players.

Sorry if it didn't seem clear before.
Yep, I get tired of being pirated and nothing annoys me more than being hit by pirates more than once on a single trade run.
If that happens you can pretty much kiss any sort of profit goodbye, but I'm;
a) starting to learn the names of pirates and using the 'long range scanner' to check if pirates are in a system I need to go through
b) using 'alternate' routes to get to where I need to go, even if it means going the 'long' way
c) trying not to use the same trade route too often so I don't 'tip off' pirates that I'm moving thru the area.

And the man above is a part of that rare breed - the sensible trader. The amount of times I've hit a trader, only to have them to continue to shuttle back and forth on that same route, while whining as I pirate them over and over is unbelievable. The simple option is to do as Mickk does and use your eyes. Change route.
Also, I find people that F1 amusing. That leaves you sitting still in space with your defenceless transport, with my Waran sat behind you. +1 for logical thinking there...
