The thing I hate about all this battleship - bomber stuff is that the smaller battleships are almost impossible to be taken down by.... even 5-6 bombers...

Especially solaris osirises.

Seriously , Bombers arent that powerfull. I can optimise a BS for killing them, and If My lag is low, I could fend off a bomber squad

Then thats pilot error. normally 5-6 bombers tear any cap to shreds.

Make projectiles of fighter guns faster. Not BS turret ones.


then there is the problem, a skilled BS pilot cant kill bomber because they are always out-of-range in a battle, but a skilled bomber pilot can kill skilled Fighter pilot, so that's the difference

i say i am a capwhore just because i love BS so much and match the general Discovery Term of Capwhore, and i hate BS being spammed and abuse, or being use for lultzwutness.

yea, we had to bring in the Mamm to clear it out for our bombers

but that's for FULL SOLARIS Osiris ONLY

Yes bombers have SNAC but its not a end all do all weapon.

When you jump in a fight with your big ship, make sure you got enough guys to cover up your ass.

Get a GB and skill with it.


try use 10 fighter cover 5 enemy bombers for your Battleship, it always goes like this

Enemy Bomber: Aim, fire, shield run from enemy fighter

Fighter : non-stop pew pew pew, but guns can hardly hit their bomber and doesnt deal significant damage per hit, lead to only shiled damage to enemy bomber

Battleship: yelling at their fighter why they are so being useless, and fighter say Bomber are too hard to hit, then the BS pilot start complaining on Forums saying Bomber is too strong, then forums say get an escort and the thread got lock

First, I'm a bomber pilot.

I've been killed by everything, and I've killed just about everything in my bomber.

There's probably more wisdom in the above post than in almost all other posts about this subject. Most people will write two (short) lines about their side, and no one really bothers looking at the other side's point of view...trouble with society as a whole, but that's another topic.

Bombers are (sadly) too maneuverable when compared to their supposed nemesis, the VHF. I've had battles recently where 3-4 fighters try to kill one bomber. two of these VHF pilots were good pilots, aces in their day, and the bomber was a well known bomber pilot. That's all well and good...but if the VHF is supposed to take out a bomber "with ease", then three should have killed that thing w/in five minutes no matter who was flying the bomber.

They didn't. The bomber flat out-flew the VHFs. And it was NOT all skill, it was ship agility and such. Even the worst-handling VHF should be able to stick to the best Bomber's tail 95% of the time. That doesn't happen.

flip the coin over. What I can see happening is the Bombers get the much-vaunted agility nerf. They're reduced to gunboat-classed handling. Bombers are made mincemeat in battles b/c VHFs destroy them and they can't dodge cap fire well enough to place their SNAC shots. Bombers fall out of favor with pilots who instead start flying VHFs. VHFs cannot take out capital ships, so fights get reduced to cruisers and above and VHFs, which end in draws. No one wins fights, no conflicts get resolved, fire and brimstone rain from the sky, and Igiss will be forced to shut down the server.

OK, so maybe things won't be that bad. gee, that's kind of a good philosophy to have about a lot of things people seem bent out of shape about...another topic.

So what do you do? The bomber still has to be able to dodge the incoming fire of their primary targets, the Cap ships. But the bomber can't be too agile or the VHFs can't kill it in time to save them.

Thought: Let the bomber's agility be nerfed, but keep it's current strafe statistics. That way, the agility is lower, making it easier for VHFs to tail the bomber, but the bomber can still hold it's own in fights. Yes, it'd have to be tested, and no, i don't have the ability to do the stat adjusting and testing. But it's food for thought.
