Citizens who feel like they have been wronged, with access to a cockpit. They feel like they, or a higher ideal has been wronged, and so they set out to spread righteous vengeance against the evils of the land, or space as may be more appropriate.

How come you're only allowed to join the criminals if you've been wronged? It's already bloody unoriginal. Why not seek to take up the fight of justice? The government sure as hell ain't the only ones causing people harm out there. Oh, right, human nature. People naturally feel that the law is bad because it restricts their freedom by preventing them from doing bad things, but then when they're in trouble they whine and scream for the law to help. Don't feel bad, it happens in real life too.

Frankly, I think that in every point that you disagreed with my idea, your idea was lame. Let's go into why, since you insist.

(edit: ah hell, didn't mean for it to look *that* insulting. Just saying I don't like the idea is all. I'd just woke up, sorry.)

Quote:- can ally with house police against nations enemies?
You're including the two bigass wars in this, I assume? Including those would almost require this to be split into four IDs, since a vigilante with a military IFF makes even less sense than one with a police IFF, and all the police outside Gallia look the same.

Either way, wars aren't police business anyway. They're military business.

Quote:Unlawful factions have structure, as Corsair have elders and senate, and Outcats have something too.
Oh, I'm well aware of this. But as I've said before, unlike with house police, you can use the unlawful faction ID to basically accomplish exactly what you're after anyway. Or Pirate ID/faction IFF.

Quote:Can demand any non-house police or non-house military ships to drop any contraband.
- Good enough, but i don't see why can't he stop trader ships that hurt his people as well.
Because of the rule about having to make demands of a transport before you can kill it, basically.

Quote:Cannot ally with anyone except other Vigilantes and Freelancers.
- aye, totally alright. Just to note, not all other Vigilantes, those that belong to his affiliation.
For the most part I'm trying to simplify this.

I addressed the police base thing earlier.

Quote:- I'ld add transports but that's just so they can utilize taking cargo from enemies to certain level and bringing it themselves to the bases of the people.
Transports omitted because they draw too much attention. Besides, almost any cargo a vigilante would seize, they would rather destroy on the spot.

Quote:Also, with admin permission only.

Special RP requests take somewhere between "a long time" and "holy **** when are they gonna respond". Considering the limitations in place even on the proposed revision, I don't feel that admin approval is either necessary or beneficial. It's more work for them, more wait for us, and the pvpwhores are just gonna use the Junker, BHG, Outcast, and Corsair IDs anyway, as I'm sure you're aware.

Also, I'd like to point out that while limiting them to one house makes RP sense in one way, it also eliminates another entirely sensible RP route - that of someone who's dedicated to wiping out a specific wide-ranging criminal faction, or a certain kind of contraband, rather than protecting his home.

Consider this a bump.

I would personally like a response from somebody on the development team, particularly somebody in a position to make changes to the ID. If we can expect it being made reasonable, well, that's great. If not, then I might as well start planning some Special RP applications. I'd rather not waste my time only to find out that this -was- acknowledged, although it appears it was not.

Yep, I'm with you on this one. Some response one way or the other would be nice.

Look, this topic's too important to just let die like this. Seriously, the ID is horribly flawed in its current state.

*Whistles innocently*

All we require is that this thread be formally acknowledged, then we can let it sleep.
