It's my understanding missles cause lag as well (depending on refire rate). Sidewinders @ 1.00 refire, no prob. But a turret at 4 to 5, prob. I suppose it would also depend on the duration and speed (ie 3000 range at only 200 kps would allow for a lot of missles to be active at once).
I've seen the Solaris missle turret for sale, anyone seen it in action? Does it cause lag?

-That- would be fun to see in-game. Use ammo, low refire rate, fast speed/1000 - 1500 m distance for fightercraft. Capital ships, same energy drain as missile turrets, ranges like... Mortar ranges, low refire rates, like little slower than Razors. Fairing well with shields, but specializes in hull. Perfect space-borne sniping system.
