Trust me Vrouw, that will change with the time. When I was in my first battle against the LN, I died first, too. The trick is, not to fight against the aces as a rookie (I did that against Seanne -> pew pew), obey the orders of the battle command (Because they usually know who to attack.) and to handle your vessel.
Just train with the long-time LN pilots, they did very good.
Its sometimes its more like "shoot the guy with no lag this time and maybe cant dodge so well".
Not seperating yourself with Aces though, is indeed a good idea.
Ive seen several pilots trying to take on guys in a 1on1.
If the numbers are already uneven due to losses on your side, DONT DO it.
Youll get shot by the guy you are taking on and if someone of the other enemies is paying attention, he will rush to you as well, to make it a 2on1.
Can be an easy kill then.
Merge the battle, keep your mates informed that youa re under preassure.
If possible, someone tries to annoy one of your pursuers.

Ladies and gentlemen, we have an amazing oportunity opening up before us as I speak. The LSF has intercepted Rheinland transmissions indicating they are intending on destroying the Whitefield. Now, the Whitefield has extensive anti cap capability, however it is weak against bomber assault.
I intend on pre-empting this assualt and destroying the RM's bomber wing before it can even launch. The Battleship Westphailia will be out target, as intelligence implies the attack will be launched from there at 20:00 GMT saturday 5th of sept.
In order to catch the RM off guard we shall stage out attack two hours earlier, at 18:00.
The destruction of the Westphailia may allow us to open a beachhead in the Bremen system and move the Battleship Concord through the jumphole.
All available bomber craft not already engaged in operations in Hudson and Bering will be required. Any men or women only recently out of basic will be required to form a fighter escort.
