A lizard fetus looks like a human fetus.

As does a Catfish fetus.
Although humans do have things in common with Catfish, as opposed to monkeys...

Radiation can mutate them to LOOK like chimps, like an earlier poster stated with a Wiki link, but making them truly like them seems like it is going a bit far. Unless i'm wrong and Cardimine modifies DNA via radiation =O.

Then it would potentially work in Freelancer o-o. I always thought Cardimine did such a feat via chemical reactions, however...

Sadly I don't have a lot of knowledge in biology. Mainly astronomy, physics... even then i'm only a high school senior, so there is still millions more things for me to learn in those categories! I just know that high-frequency energy passing through you is rather bad for your cells, though it doesn't merge animal species to my knowledge. It sure does mess them up though!

Edit: Ugh.. fixed a little grammar. Its way too late, my brain is in sleep-mode yet my body is in "type type type!" mode. D:

-=Will be Under Development, for sure!=-

Thank you for being a voice of reason. Radiation, yes, causes mutation. This mutation, in turn, generally causes cancer. NOT the spontaneous transformation of people into monkeys. Merry Christmas anybody.

Please move this thread to Flood.

Here another possible bit of RP for the monkeys, they Daam'Kivosh could have genetically altered the primate inhabitants of said world millions of years ago, since what says that the Nomads were the only species the D'K made? This has the added bonuse of providing additional mystery around the D'K and their purposes.

The monkeys are a leftover from pre-Sirius Alliance experiments in bioengineering, specifically uplifting animals (in this case, chimps) to a full bipedal stance and near-human intelligence. The idea was to use them as footsoldiers against the Coalition (chimps are naturally tough and very strong, compared to humans), but the testing never reached final stages before the exodus.

Some scientist carried several cryo-frozen embryos with him/her on a sleeper ship, and eventually the experiments continued in one of the early colonies of Sirius. However, the matured 'test subjects' rebelled against their makers and manage to flee in one or more small freighters, and through luck or fate managed to find and survive the fickle jumpholes and dangers of the Omicrons, eventually finding and settling on a barely-habitable planet in what would eventually be known as the Omicron Kappa system. Being hardy and small in number, the chimps managed to survive, even flourish, on the harsh planet, until finally encountering a peaceful expedition of Zoners some hundreds of years later.

... Well, that's my theory.

It is probably the most plausible theory out there.

You could also throw in that the nomads probably experimented on them to gain a rudimentary understanding of Terran-based biology.

Perhaps mindsharing some of these creatures (and abandoning them after the Pygar Incident) helped their brains develop further?

And Cannon's signature has a monkey in it.
A Nomad infested monkey, by the looks of it, but a monkey nonetheless.
I don't know the story behind that.

I do >.>

Note to self: Fix Cannon's sig with new 3|33t GIMP skillz.
