We'll keep the system under military might until we can work out some internal details and get things worked out. It's annoying having our home system suddenly be heavily trafficked while we're trying to sort ourselves out.
We've already got BOUNTIES on us. Hell, I've got a bounty on ME! For enforcing my own roleplay.

That's good. Now we'll have more witnesses to our RP.
"THE HULL HAS BEEN BREACHED AND THESCIENCEIS LEAKING OUT!"
I don't see why Iridium in Kansas is any more illogical than Iridium in Delta.
And I don't think the NTF has anything at all to do with any mining locations.
And if you do things which annoy people, like kill them, you'll get bountied. Just because it's your RP has nothing to do with it. Trying to enforce your laws over a system will annoy people. It's like one of the miners saying, 'They pirated ME! For following my own roleplay.'
Edit:

It's not supposed to be any kind of 'secret' system. Liberty knows about it, at least, and the government isn't trying to keep it any sort of secret.
I believe it is 'Not the Fuzz' but, I do tend to make these things up as I go along, considering all the new factions that spring up like Ben's pants on parents day (though he hasnt got any kids..).
Currently the mining system is not up and running (related to new commodites I suppose) due to Flhook issues that I'm sure will be resolved by our hard working friend Cannon (iridium is obviously not a new commodity like Gold Ore, so not effected).
Once it is fixed I would expect all mining being balanced to eachother (in profit) and the miners will hopefuly have a choice where to mine based on RP and not be hemmed into one spot by profit being simply unmatchable (30mil an hour is a bit high).
The NTF is the Neo-Terran Front. Our in-RP goal is to eventually build one or more sleeper ships, escape Sirius, and create a new homeworld and center of culture for humanity (Neo-Terra). This would also ideally ensure that humanity survives no matter what.
Faction writeup is still in the works. (School and the RP consideration of where exactly we're going to be based when everyone seems to hate us have delayed it.)

This. Like I said, this sudden stream of distractions really bogs us down. When we've got to watch out for bounty hunters, it makes writing up a good roleplay difficult.
