Safeguards can obviously be placed. But I'd say a third party admin endorsed bank isn't the worst idea, can I sign up as a debt collector?

Kidding...

Another idea would be for the CBIC(since it is an established bank) to fill that role.
3rd party, well kept, all the admins would have to do is team up with them and things would transition easily.
[color=#FF0000]PLUS that bank has the Mandalorians as collectors.......

I'm sure there would be plenty of Hunters out there (faction or not) who would be willing to collect debt payments for the bank. Maybe it could even see the formation of a new group entirely comprised of debt collectors.

Who knows? but there are some nice possibilities from something like this.

This should be left for private sector. More rp and such...

And second thing, admins already have what to do.

So NO

i'm gona be cynical but i cant see debt collectors working, it'd be fantastic if they did but if someone takes out a lone for a BS or cruiser or similar, are they gona give any money to a debt collector(probably in a gunboat at best)? no, the whole point of their ship is probably PVP and they'll love the attention.

even if they're buying an advanced train with it, they can refuse to pay and get blown up or run away. if i had the choice of 100mill piracy or just getting blown up maybe once of twice more a day and losing my 4 mill cargo i know what i'd pick.

as far as i'm concerned, if a person hasnt payed the loan within a reasonable time frame, they don't intend to, and no amount of blue messages will convince them otherwise.

Debt collectors ? The bailiff notices would read like sanction reports ...

Quote:"<Charname> Has had his ships and credits repossessed, the shiny new transport is now a starflier and
the gunboat is a dagger. His legs have been broken, and his family sold into slavery for defaulting on the
loan. The interest is now running at ten percent per week, and his arse will be deleted if this is not repaid
in full within seven playing days."
[joke]Why don't we just start everyone with ten million credits in game?[/joke]

Not like it's horribly hard to make money with the mod in it's current form is it ? It seems no one is prepared
to roleplay a little work these days. Everything must be handed out on a plate ...

Completely right.

This would only be useful for capspammers and lolwuts methinks.

It isn't difficult people.

I would only support such an institution if strict financial regulation was implimented banning risky investment and sub-prime ship loans. We don't want another Sirius-wide recession.

In all seriousness though; if a new player gets a 100mil loan they can get a huge ship, do some powertrading and repay the loan in a couple of hours; then have their battleship the next day. Progression from 0 credits is essential if we have any hope of forging noobs into active rping members of the community.

I agree. Time is needed while you are spending building up from ground up is the time you slowly become acquainted with the server rules and general gameplay. When you are flying out there as an indie civ ID you are practically safe and have time to sample different areas and see how things go.

I just can't respect that much those people who want to skip that and get everything right away. "lol. I need a loan for 50 mil. What's the best capital ship out there?". Sadly you see those too often.

Flying under radar.
