I'd love you to explain that to me further on skype some time. It's happening with all of my recent models :/

If you look at a lot of the Gallic capital ship models, they seem to follow the mindset that 'bigger is better'. That's sort of where I was aiming with it. Anyway, I don't expect them to get used, I'd imagine the devs want all that stuff consistant and my style is different to Frozens.

Um... no, they arent.
Almost all of the council and GRN ships are quite blocky, using angular, bulky designs, much like rheinland's designs. The only ships that dont follow that path are the brigand/corse ships, which tend to look more like WW2 planes, still not 'high tech', but more curvy and smooth in shape.
Heh, I didnt see that one before. Time to bump it.
I really like it, but I agree Nath with the design. I'd rather have an artistic, shiny, stylish Jumpgate. They're french, they got the Mona Lisa and stuff, the picture is probably somewhere in the Core Systems. For me French = Art. EFL might spend a lot on nice designs and stuff.

The Civilian Ships are quite round and slipstream like, the Auroch is just sexy and I prefer it over that Transport.
"Who is it doing this synthetic type of alpha beta psychedelic funkin'?"
I support replacing the gate/lane models for gallic space, they reverse engenered the tech via junker spies, so they should look differnt, and more bulky

I have a question...
Will the front section of that model be able to open up? Obviously, the only way to get caps through would either let it open up or let ships fly through it, as a missing part of a hitbox.

' Wrote:again, as aidan explained, animations ARE possible, however, I DO NOT know how to do them (yet:P). i can make 2 versions of the gate if necessary, one open style, one with a set of "doors" like the vanilla gates if i can get the animations to work.
I think that the the Gallic systems need the own jump-gates. I say this because in the RP for up there they are not supposed to have any of the tech. from DSE and Algeria that all other systems have. Gallic should have there own systems of getting from system to system with their own type of jump-gates. I kudos you for this and hope this might be thought about for the next mod release.
With a few modifications to the original model, and spending the last two days just zerg-rush texturing, i finally managed to complete the texturing of the jumpgate.
There are a few modifications that i will probably be doing either tomorrow or sometime within the week to make it easier when silent tries to animate it, but until then, this is pretty much it.
