Alright, Beagle, Divine mentioned the same thing.
I'm willing to do so. Direct me to the recruitment thread, and we shall see how it goes. If my opinion of the =CR= and this topic changes, then I will let it rest. I can't speak for others, of course.
' Wrote:There could be other reasons, like an OoRP disagreement with =CR= leadership.
Furthermore, if you make a thread about Colonial independents after applying and getting rejected, people discount your message.
Just because we're all in the same faction doesn't mean we're all zombies to Panzer. We're the serfs of his mighty kingdom, perhaps, but that doesn't mean we can't raise suggestions or issues to him and to each other as and when needed.
As for the other point, I'm not really sure what you're getting at there, though I'd add it's not easy to get rejected from joining CR. I think it's very nice that when people post an application to us and their RP backstory is lacking, the higher ups actually try to work it out with them and help them develop it instead of just rejecting them and moving on. Furthermore, the trial period we have with the colour coded ships (=CR=Red-1, =CR=Blue-3 for example) lets us do even more development with them.
I'm not trying to make us sound like saints, but I'm not the leader of CR by a longshot either, and I just think it's nice that there's that kind of attitude to new people who apply.

Edit: Sending you the details now, bobo!
I was talking about alternative reasons not to join the =CR=, as opposed to your singular minded view of there only being one, which was, not wanting to follow orders.
You questioned why bring this thread up before applying. I answered it.

Ah, I'd completely forgotten parts of my own post in relation to yours, very foolish of me.
do you know how much time me and other official outcast faction members use, stopping dreads, tridents and stortas from filling up tau 23? I can tell you, its ALOT of time wasted there.
And now, you want CR indies? HAVE YOU EVER SEEN THE LOLWUTTERY THAT IS IN THE TAUS? i suspect you havent.
Now, we have colonials crying because dreads, cruisers and tridents are spamming their system each time they bring 6 fighters and a bomber against smuggler. Fine id say, we all know how to handle the current hell thats in there. But your encouraging an army of zephyrs, arguses and hydras??? get real.
If colonial ID gets allowed to use by indies, you will see constant server crashes as outcast indy dreads and colonial indy carriers duke it out for teh lulz. Personally im fine with the server as it is now. I do not want more lags or crashes just because some guy wants a new ID.
Make a IMG indy, colonials and img just stays in 23/37 anyway... pewpewing smugglers, mining and ferrying the ore to New Berlin without escorts. Every now and then they may go to another system and roleplay a little, but mostly, their just in 23/37.
There are two reasons for which while I am the CR president something called "Colonial indie" will remain an oxymoron.
1st, RP. Since the fleet is a military organization, the central and only one, any indies would be seen by it as a civilian militia at best (And even that's not allowed because valuable equipment would be wasted with untrained civvie pilots). What's more, such a militia man wouldn't be eligible to a career advancement path. they wouldn't be bound by faction rules, command chain et cetera. Bad military RP imo. Also, military service in the republic is compulsory. You're a citizen, means you are obliged by the law to a term of service unless physically or mentally disabled.
2nd, ooc - The tag is the fleet uniform. You don't wear it, you're not fleet. Then there's lolwutism. In my humble opinion, there is too few good indies to justify letting them all form the CR's indie wing. Examples I see all around, most prominently Omicron Minor, Gamma, Alpha and a good portion of Liberty. Am I that elitist to decline the option of having self-styled colonial admirals in Zephyr carriers?
Each accidental or purpose-made CR indie gets three choices when encountered. He may either join the faction, surrender his ship and IFF and turn IMG or something else or simply die.
' Wrote:There is fine reason. We do not want lol indies in faction. Look to the Liberty. Navy has TONS of problems with totally retarded people under navy colors. We are not interested in that since lots of folks hate our faction, no need to make our name even worse and filled with restrictions.
Colonials are to stay indieless. Its not that hard to join faction.
Soooo, I don't want retarded People using the Liberty Rogue ID and making the Liberty Rogue Faction looking bad, can we restrict it now?
Also, that the Colonials are looking bad is your own damn Fault and not the Independent's Fault.
"Who is it doing this synthetic type of alpha beta psychedelic funkin'?"

If it helps you why not? I prefer the good rogues over those stopping my ship and saying " Oh navy firing " pew pew.
And our image. I do not need a bunch of indies luling around in Taus. Think people will say indies did it. No. They go - The CR has....
Yes, in simple, in regards to what Schlurbi said, I don't think it's right that a completely original (at least to Freelancer) faction be given more rights to restrict it's technology than any other military or government.
Actually, this is an even better topic than my OP.
What gives the CR the right to stop people from using their tech when already established house militaries like the LN are powerless to do so? The fact that they are a new addition to the canon universe should not give such a right.
