Well gentlemen, while I, too think that there should be colonial indies because of their rather high impact RP (not talking about quality here), it is a fact that it is not in our position to demand that these IDs will be made public until their NPCs leave their Guard System.
If you think about it, its exactly the same with the Hellfire Legion. They are loosely based on a NPC faction - using exactly the same gear. Yet, its not our place to decide if there should be HF indies. Its theirs. Its their single system, its their NPCs.
If you want their gear, take the IMG (or in HFs case LH)
If you want their RP, Join em.
As for other military factions, well, I think it kinda does. They didn't create the whole concept, so they don't claim the faction. Although I'd personally have nothing against it if they did, but it's not my decision to make, and let's not get into that overchewed discussion.
As for your lower paragraph:
Well, Bob, I proposed that with my squadron idea thing, just that what you said there. But there just needs to be some sort of chain of command. Doesn't have to be as strict as it is in the rest of the battlegroups, offering a bit of leeway and individuality, similar to what we have with the Colonial Intelligence Service(Though those you know little about and don't see because they don't have Colonial tags or IDs). But it does have to exist.
Don't know who'd lead it, though. Doesn't even need to be any one of the current members of the faction, as far as I'm concerned. I'd help out with it all, and really, the only reason why I'm suggesting this is because I think it'd be awesome, but I'm too busy with exams and graduation.
If something could be worked out to the joy of both sides, sure, why not. That's just me talking, keep that in mind, though.

I don't think anyone would like to take responsibility for that, Swift.I certainly wouldn't.Three Rp'ing indies who know what they're doing is a kinda small price for the rest 5-10 who are lolpwn knobs.
' Wrote:I see your point, definitely, but MY point, which you seem to have neglected, is that the CR should have no more right to stop independents than any other faction. I'm sure the [LN] takes alot of flak for not keeping control of the LNS', the same with the [RM] and RNC's.
You're all militaries, yet for some reason the CR doesn't have to deal with the crud the other militaries have to.
Again, why?
Because I chose not to deal with the crud the other militaries "have to" deal with. Perhaps it should work the other way around? Why don't all militaries rebel against this ridiculous reality and become more restrictive about discipline, technology use and chain of command?
What I said IS meant for anyone to be able to join, but the key is in the fact that only those who are there for the RP would be there to stay. Those who're not, no matter what their other skills may be, are out the window. My hope is that it'd help the cohabitation of the good and pro-RP people who consist 80% of the CR with the good and pro-RP indies. Later on, I believe it'd all eventually just merge into some superb machine filled with cogs who are good players, nevermind their faction or non-faction status.
Such a change can't come all of a sudden. It needs groundwork, and that kind of a squadron'd be groundwork.
Trust me, if I knew for a fact that everyone who's given the ID and the ships would use them well, I'd be all for it. Right now, we cannot know that. Later on, that might eventually be a reality.

Well, in any case, I forget why I got back involved in this thread... :\
You have my application. Perhaps from within I can see things in a different light.
That is of course assuming my arguments here haven't lowered my chances of acceptance.
Good to see this huge argument laid to rest, Bobo, you'll enjoy the =CR=, it was my first official faction, and I stayed until I left the server.
Great people, great RP, just need to ignore the lolwuttery that is native to the Taus, and press on.
