Come down to Omega-7. I have miners just thrust quietly toward Elbich everyday. Omega-7 is such a small system I simply don't have time to RP if they do that, so I make my demand and tell them to stop if they'll pay.
Hell, I even assault miners who sit outside of Elbich so they insta-dock and can't mine for four hours.
I believe we both have two different experiences with money-makers. I have miners. You have traders. You have different people coming through everyday. I basically have the same people all of the time. So you can have different people who role-play differently coming through, but I have the same few who rarely RP, and even then it's rushed because the system is so small and a lawful can be ontop of you in a second.
However, I accept the young grasshopper title because it made me laugh.:P
[17:45:39] Wolfs Ghost (Murphy): Tom, you have problems. Go kill yourself.
[19:25:12] Johnny (Jam): Tomtom, I will beat you with a spoon.
[14:22:56] Prarabdh Thakur: KILL HIM WITH A SHEEP.
[17:40:48] Eagle (Junes): Tom should be slapped with a spoon.
[11:32:18] Warspite: Thank you for being so awesome Tom. <3
[18:17:36] Metano: I love you tomtom
[20:06:24] Warspite: I will seriously give you epic head.

You weren't in Edin when you did that, were you? No seriously, the number of mute traders in Edin these days is just astonishing.
We didn't stay in one place. We flew around looking for people. Went all over Dublin, Leeds and Edinburgh. They were traders and miners. Even one BMM sitting right by a Jump Hole chose to stay and RP with us instead of jumping through and running.
And it's nothing compared to what Tau-31 used to be like before they changed that trade routes. I still have screenshots to remind myself of all the fond memories of traders swearing at us and speaking in russian, Outcast Tridentes cruising to catch up back when that was against the rules. Good times.
I don't believe the behaviour of the people you pirate should dictate the way you conduct yourself.
Traders run from pirates cause pirates demand redicious amounts and shoot them before they can say anything, and pirates make stupid demands and shoot traders without giving them adequate time to respond because traders run.
It's a never ending circle, and you're both in the wrong.
Do something different, you might get a surprise.
And remember above all else: You don't have to 'win' every piracy encounter.
That means your trader doesn't always have to get away, and your pirate doesn't always have to catch their prey.

Accept it.
Believe me, I do get some good RP interactions.
But I'm not even talking about running away or not getting cash. That's the least of my problems at least when patrolling Edinborough even. When I see someone hauling tourists to Shetland, I actually ask them to turn around (because inRP, they're hauling poachers with those) and most times, a small donation.
I never break out of RP and always talk to them, often quite extensively. The problem is, quite a lot of them can't speak english, don't want to talk, can't fathom the fact that getting their cash isn't actually my primary goal and keep telling you "I give u 2 mil and u let me go, k?" etc... So mostly I end up feeling I'm talking to myself. And when I'm looking through the chat window, it does look like that. One long monologue by yours truly.
So it's not actually about getting money, I do that in Leeds and sometimes Dublin... But in Edinborough, "conserving nature" by redirecting tourist haulers and in other areas, catching wildlife haulers is my inRP goal. And those haulers are usually the problematic ones.
Everyone who knows me on the the forums, knows I hate pirates who go too far.
Getting stopped by a pirate happens, it's one of those things, you play along (I mean RP) as well as you can and hope to get out of it with;
a. your ship intact
b. a little profit at the end of the run
c. not too wound up and aggro at the previously mentioned pirate.
A few people out there seem to think that Traders should be ummmm shall we say 'nice' to pirates.
I'm thinking that it is totally in RP to be 'polite' (like you are polite your best mates gf/bf that you totally hate) to a pirate, bribing them with something that they might want more than $$$ is a possibility *if* you have something like that on board, but going and 'entertaining' them as in being funny for their benefit, I personallly can't see that happening.
' Wrote:a) rp
b) start talking after their shields are down
c) thrust quietly while being CD'd
d) f1 in a miserable attempt to save their cargo
e) draw for the 'soru no inglis' line (or any other variation)
do it. i dare you.
my regular day on me molly result in
a) 1
b) 1
c) 8 or 9
d) 5 (yes some even do it twice)
e) 0
so, I shoot a lot of miners/ traders down beause they are stubborn
do not rp of any kind. if they do, I tend to be easier on them, not always tough
When I was pirating 1/10 traders had RP with me. Others just pushed cruise. I remember the most annoying guy who ran and started to chat me from another system. He treated me with sanction because I haven't warned him about cds. In his eyes I ve broken rule 5.2
Another said I no spik english.
Another started to talk after shields down.
Another couldn't talk with me but could talk with navy.
There are as many lolwut traders as there are lolwut pirates.
This makes making rules hard, seeing as anything you do to stop the 'PAY2MORDAI' makes it impossible for the perfectly respectable RPing pirates who can't stop the traders who just try to get away as fast as possible, which it is impossible to type while doing.
