Thats very odd. Are you sure your system is clean? Skype doesn't even leave a dent in my CPU on Windows 7 x64.

It's... weird.. Sometimes it works properly, sometimes it goes ape**** and abuses my computer. I have an Antivirus software installed, AVG - it's free.

If you can suggest a better antivirus software that is free, please do. However, besides skype, everything else is working perfectly, so I'd rather say it's skype's funky business

Well, I have Vista, and before you say anything, I'm just too lazy to change it.
Back on topic, I have the latest version of skype and other than some skype lag, never had a problem...
As for antivirus, ain't got any :cool:

Make sure this isn't caused by some other simultaneous background tasks which are somehow related to Skype, for example Skype browser plugins. Check your running background tasks through the task manager and try to shut down as many useless things as possible.
