I love it! It encourages roleplaying, and decreases lolwuttery (Keep as is)

It should contain some clarification about some open-use ships (Ptrans, Ptrain) and special ships (e.g. "Democritus is considered an open-use transport").

In addition: People read the chart only and forgot about, for example: In all cases, characters may purchase and use ships and weapons that are sold on bases that belong to the same faction as their faction ID regardless of color coding. - it can be added to the tech chart.

I hope it won't make the chart tl;dr.

Feel free to PM me regarding any grammar/spelling/other language mistakes I have made in my posts.

Well, it's already quite... massive. I don't think another paragraph or two of text would noticeably add much more space to the impressive bulk of colored cells.

But I think it works alright. Could it use a few tweaks? Well, what couldn't? Everything could conceivably be "made better." It all depends on what people agree on as to what truly is better.

Well for me, I don't see the difference between being shot by a silent lib dread in New York or a silent OCD with corsair turrets in New York.

Not like anyone agrees with me on that point, though.

Well, that's a different problem entirely. One that can't just be solved by something like the tech chart.

Point flew over your head. Tech chart punishes out of the box RP and solves absolutely nothing. Just forces people into cliques tbh. Morons will still be morons, they'll just do it with proper tech. Olol.

And at least most of the admins I've spoken with do Smokey, and that's all that really counts in the end.

Kinda agree with Tycho tho. The problem is people don't do things cuz they're right or such, but because they're forced by a rule. Even with SRP, one wants OC guns on 'sair ship, invents a RP and he's done. Doesn't necessarily have to keep developing it, he just got what he wanted. Even if the tech chart wasn't there, wouldn't use that combination, for example, out of common sense. Or, another example, asking permission from a faction to use a ship. It's a RP server, so I'll roleplay it. If I was a lawful, I'd ask permission, otherwise.

Then again, any lolwhut would pretend that he managed to steal a dread and would use it with pirate id, thus the chart ain't completely useless...

One of the main problems for me is that it doesn't have every faction in Sirius on it. Instead it molds together most house firms into "Liberty Civilian" and so forth. This can be confusing especially as those corps have less in common than some people suggest. I reckon that every NPC faction should be represented by a separate category.

I for one like it but would like to see a change here and there on it.

For example the BD can only use GMG weapons with an SRP despite the fact that GMG is the hidden financial backer of the BD fleet. We have the full range of turrets available for the BD to use (whose own guard system does not have a full range of turrets). Not only that our turret infocards are already set with the RP that our tech is circulating on the black market. With SRPs closed there is no way for this aspect of GMG-BD relation to take fruit. I myself have a Kagutsuchi I had repped up to use GMG turrets. I had mistakenly assumed the cell was white but I had to ditch them in favour of KNF secondaries that was the only option in BD guard system. GMG guns aren't particularly powerfull but they look and sound nice and I wanted to RP my cruiser as having been funded by GMG.
