Chenzo, I am not blowing it out of proportion.

It is one thing to see a Junker with 1 type of all different guns on his slow-fat ship.
It is completely another to see BD HF's with full Krakens and Inferno, as it was in 4.84 without the tech chart.

For example, I wouldn't mind seeing Manta with 1 Kraken, 1 Salamanca, 1 Trefoil, 1 Natterturn, 1 Hellfurry and 1 Daito. They are like, trophies.
But, you know, nobody wants to mix guns like that. 'RP' usually turns to 'PVP edge'. I'm not judging, I wouldn't mix guns like that either, I would be a bad Bounty Hunter.

Tech chart is there not to stop Corsairs from using Outcast tech, that was forbidden even in 4.84, but to stop allies using each other's equipment too much (or at least move responsibility from the admin team to the official faction).
So, you won't be seeing all Hackers using Krakens instead of Hellfurries. You might see some, which do bother to request and fulfill what is asked from them.

I think it's really really great and helpful, and I think that people who say it suffocates their RP just can't be bothered to develop their RP well enough to get what they want trough it.
You can still use anything you want if your RP justifies it and you are approved.

BW Transport is open use. Other BWs are fighters - at least unsuitable for a trader. (An escort is a freelancer or mercenary, not a trader.)

Maybe to allow and encourage such situation introduce rules similar to "2x Lootable Nomad weapons are useable per ship." (The Order), except with "enemy" instead of "Nomad"? Or maybe "no more than half of the guns belonging to another faction"?

Feel free to PM me regarding any grammar/spelling/other language mistakes I have made in my posts.

The tech chart shouldn't be about what's unfit for a given task. It should be about what's allowed per the rules.

The Independent Trader ID can also escort traders. Really though, I don't see any advantage to using the Independent Trader ID instead of the Freelancer one, since the trader doesn't get anything the freelancer doesn't have, and in fact loses some privs...

Get rid of the gray areas, ONLY GREEN OR RED. Green you can use, red you cannot, simple.

That just kills RP. People do all sorts of inRP things to get white cell equipment.

You mean ridiculous alliances for the sole purpose of getting an edge in some PvP contest?

This is not going to fix anything.
And I second Dodike.

It's ok.

I don't want to see random gaians flying with tizonas. For some faction who have liberal approuch (GMG?) to their weaponry ye it's useless and worthless. For other factions who are guarding their own tech like Corsairs it's ok.

Now some of you talk how badly it .... ups your roleplay (or omg rules dictates how you should play !). Or how it doesn't give anything. Yet your are thinking only about individuals. And that's only one side of the coin.

It does give. It does grant more freedom. Not for individuals, but to actuall factions as a whole. They have control on their own equipment, how it should be. Someone who wants get their weaponry needs to actually do something. Being friend on paper is not enough.

The tech chart...yes,it is quite good actually, but I prefer some of the red cells changed to white, you know, captured ship, destroyed parts to form a ship, etc etc.

I think they would loan them Natterturn Zweis. Other situations like that exist in there too. Lightening it up would be excellent in my opinion.

Otherwise, it's good to have the rules there, laid out in a chart for everyone to look at.

I second this.... maybe more green cells in allied factions. I have no problems to ask for a gun but in some situations there is no need for asking it should be in open use....
