' Wrote:As said before, it's too peaceful. I blame it on the rather large amount of round shapes compared to your other models.
I like the vertical concept though, and I'd like to see it implemented in other ships as well. And it reminds me of the EVE Naglfar.
I agree. Nice design, but if you lost the pedals and gained perhaps some spikey extentions it would be very nice looking.
Something like this:
Obviously I would not change your ship core design, but simply, add somthing sinister to it such as these extentions.. They really make a ship look creapy and give it that "reaching out for you" feeling.
This looks like a lawful vessel... Heck, make this an [Angels] snub maybe?:)
I'm not getting the sense of fear that Phantoms should incur from this vessel.
And Nitecrawler: Why bother with Babylon 5 Shadows? We try to be original;)

I think it looks nice, but the problem is just that. It looks nice.
Phantoms are ebil scary people. Not cuddly fuzzbuckets.

Here's where I've got to break with the rest of the herd. Sure, it has an eerily beautiful look to it, but is that a bad thing? Seeing one for the first time might lull the enemy into a false sense of security, at least until it starts shooting. At any rate, it certainly doesn't look harmless. It doesn't need to look traditionally scary to be an intimidating sight. Deadly beauty is not a bad thing.
If you ask me, Jinx, I think you may have hit upon a good look for the Phantoms. I wonder what they think of it?
However, i dont see it fitting the Phantom line. Virus (i think he was the leader) - wanted something close to the Corsair/Order design - not a lot - but few similarities. So i was told by him. Nothing wide, no wings, not 'vertical', but the general shape of a cylinder (Osiris/Lib Dread for example). But, it looks good;)
Your talent with curves and organic shapes never fails to titillate my inner modelmaker.
That said, we all know how well that would fly in rocks, and I have to be honest, the first thing I thought was "Hey, it looks like the giant cuttlefish from Mass Effect!" I know simple and smooth is the Phantom way, but it almost seems a little TOO simple, and when you get right down to it any capital ship needs to be more phallic than feminine in this game, unless this is a very small and over-armored cruiser.
EDIT: Actually, something like three years ago I put a considerable amount of thought and effort couple of pencil-and-paper concepts for a Phantom battleship. I'm sure they were probably a little too long, but the design characteristics were very well-received, though I was at the time (and am probably still) not skilled enough to bring them to realization. Perhaps they might make good inspiration, if anybody can find the original posts.
