Maybe it would be an idea guys to stay on topic.. this discussion seems to have gone from a Zephyr vs Dreadnaught discussion to a OC vs IMG to a Light bs vs heavy bs.
On topic however, the zephyr is awesome. I use a mostly anti-cap setup on mine, with 2 razors firing forward, 2 360 degrees mortars, 2 rearfire pulses, and the rest primaries. I have found it to be the doom of many outcast battleships and dreadnaughts...
Hint: Avoid the dreadies primaries until he's out of bots and bats. Then run in for the kill.
The IMG is a mining company at heart, and mining companies do not need dreadnoughts. As for a more... oorp perspective: Well, we have a dread because the Corsairs has one, and they're our primary enemies. Balance.
Anyway! If you don't want to see dreads in the Taus then I suggest supporting official faction control of caps... and stop ganking with caps yourself. You give a little, you get a little... etc etc.
4.86 will see IMG only retaining the Argus battlecruiser as a new model. Probably the heaviest battlecruiser in the game, but being a cruiser, moderately useless against dreads. IMG will no longer have a Zephyr. Colonials will get their battleship though.
As for dreads Tauside... few of IMG's players, myself among them, have resorted to the use of heavy-on-the-primaries Kusari battleships. Those are, without question, the most effective battleship to battleship sluggers in the module and can generally handle 2 dreads vs 1 Kus BS (primarily due to the Kusari energy efficient primaries, and the large number of forward firing turrets this battleship has). And before people start shouting that it should not happen: Tau 23 is within KNF's ZOI, and is basically the Kusari flank. The OC Dreaddies in and of themselves created a reason for Kusari capitals to be there.:)

hm.
what are the rules? lets say -
eta (no rocks to stop dreads from cruising) - check
5 sail titans (event ships) - check
5 MNS dreads - check
a sum of 1400 (+- 200) bots left on MNS dreads after last sail ship died - check
if those were bombers ...
please dont tell me how hard it is to fight a hippo in a rock field if you have 3 or more bombers in your fleet.
ps: what do i win now?
I actually agree with Waratah, there are very few BSs in the game that are actually bad (the only two that I can think of are the Liberty Carrier and Sarissa, which are both far too big for their stats and just massive targets). Some BSs just take a little more tactical awareness and planning to fly successfully, the Zephyr being one of them.
Zephyrs can take on Ranseurs and win if used right, they can also get utterly slaughtered by Ranseurs if used wrong, the difference is just a matter of pilot skill.
Oh and half a dozen Ranseurs will get absolutely annihilated by a group of several Bombers, as the Corsairs have proved so many times, so if a bunch of Pythos (which are much smaller and more agile than Praetorians) can't kill those Ranseurs, then they must be doing it wrong.

Just a mirror, my adversary. And as to why pythospam doesn't always work: Once a couple of Sabres show up those bombers tend to have a hard time staying alive long enough to chew through the caps. OC fighter weaponry is quite painful, and the Sabre is a good fighter, with that extra forward gun. Sometimes you need to hit that brick wall with another brick wall.
And as for RP... My main concern is booting those dreaddies back quickly so they cause minimal disruption. I sadly can't show them the way to Eta myself, and yea, I know you tried.
