' Wrote:Great articles and links to the rules - just why cant we put thias stuff in the game - its true now that i think about the wasted commodity icons/places in game. I think these commodities/rule indicatiors that can be purchased in game and shown in cargo holds would be quite fun and also alleviate confusion and links to threads in forums. Most folks wouldnt carry 70 commodities for the different factions - just purchase and carry the ones that apply to them. As far as the ships go - edit the descriptions and put the info regarding illegal use, etc - its just some extra text that can save someone the cash spent on a purchase that didnt reflect what they originally wanted to use it for. Minor tweaks.
Two reasons:
-The laws aren't immutable. As an example, Kusari recently enacted the embargo against Liberty. As far as I know there would be no easy way for the Kusari government players to modify these commodities in-game without involving admins and wasting admins' time.
-It takes two minutes to look it up on the forums. It's a stickied thread. Not that hard.
Quote:I will obviously go back to jump holes but again my issue with the lawful factions bugs me the same way police sometimes gripe me. They go after folks making minor everyday infractions because they dont seem brave enough to go after the harcore criminals that might shoot back/kill them/etc. Its too easy to pick on the easy targets - lame in my opinion. (For the police comment - I have personally been in war and conflict and know that many folks I served with wished we could have been issuing traffic citations and not risking our lives but it was part of our job - for those law enforcement folks I might accidently have offended - the main issue was folks doing it in game where there are no real life and death consequences.) ;)
Because police aren't always equipped to deal with the "hardcore criminals?" Plus, with TLAGSNET it's a whole lot easier to locate someone who's smuggling than it is to locate a pirate.
Also, it's not really a "minor everyday infraction." You're breaking the law. At least in Liberty, laws aren't classified as "minor" or "major." They're just laws.
I dont willingly trade illegal goods - I am asking to avoid doing so. I also dont want to use the illegal ships - thats the whole point of my first article - have it in game so I dont mess it up - simple as that.
One more thing - if factions want to create embargoes, etc - then before they go thru the trouble of enforcing it in game - go thru the trouble of asking someone to add that info in game and load it in one one of Cannons updates. They folks wont break your embargo laws - simple as that - unless they are smugglers that is and then you should go after them. Im simply asking to make this more clear cut for the people who actually want to respect the rules and not offend any militray/police characters.
Please note as well folks - I have four military characters in the four main house factions. I guess I have not been doing my job as I only enforce those goods that appear or commodities list in Wiki. This new commodity im talking about will help me in my role as four lawful characters too - Im not just a Junker.
So Taffic are you saying that you agree this info should be updated in Wiki? That would work as well - again - I just want to be able to get the rules/info in one place primarily - prefereably in game though.

Yes - I instinctively go to the Wiki as the most authoritative source of info. (well it should be)
I am sure new players do to.
The forums here are massive & all sorts of data are tucked away in all sorts of threads - it's far from friendly.

Quote:Designed by the Liberty Rogues, the Pirate Transport is one of the few transport-class vessels available for unlawful population of Sirius. This ship is too distincitive to be used for smuggling in areas heavily patrolled by police and military. However, the Transport is great choice for smugglers carrying goods from one pirate base to another using dangerous and lengthy routes. Heavy armor and advanced equipment come in handy if the ship is threatened by hostile pirates and bounty hunters alike.
Bolding is mine.
Exactly what part of the pirate transport made you think it would be a legal vessel? I'm surprised that Rheinland only prohibits Junkers from using it--in Liberty it's not allowed at all.
If you want to avoid illegal goods and illegal vessels, spend two minutes looking it up.

All the lawful factions need to get off their high horse, and stop banning every dam ship/ID/comodity from their systems. Right now i would pity any new/newish player. They would need to read for 24 hours plus to try and figure half the stupid laws, and deplomatic crap the "Official" factions are spewing around. At present their is no trading, just smuggling cause no matter what is in your cargo? someone will yell ilegal/smuggler,or imbargo breaker.
This is just 1 of the many reasons i am no longer playing here.
