Enough already, how many times do we need to repeat ourselves until you realize that mining is something that requires teamwork. Have multiple miners, and get somebody else to transport the ore.
The reason for the high profit is because you need to share the money among your team.
What also might help is expanding your mining operation, have several miners at several fields to increase your ore rate.

No, no, you don't get it. Mining in O-11 still is broken. And it's pretty much the only place you can get Uncut Diamonds. While having all your guns fall off because of the radioactivity.

No it isn't. Works fine after it's been tweaked. Mining works fine now, imo.
My point is that no-one shoots at +1 yield on the offchance of some RP. there has to be something in it for the actually tedious practice of shooting rocks. Yes mining is tedious but the whole process of getting the ore, transporting the ore and being rewarded is a larger experience which I prefer to trading.
Traders would be pretty pissed if they turned up for their favourite commodity at Planet X just to be told that that's sold out. Try again in three days!
As far as I'm concerned the price nerf was sufficient. The rest wasn't worth the considerable effort put in to nerf it in other ways.
Please don't go on about this communal mining garbage. Not everyone wants to play the game that way. i.e. most of the indies who are of course the mostly silent majority.

You can still mine alone, but you get better results if you do it in group. You're not forced to INTERACT on a MULTIPLAYER server, but you are rewarded if you do. I stand by my point: mining works now.

I do. Go say hello to GMS for me.

Try RP trading. It's even better than that. Or, wait, dynamic economy? Yeah, been there. Makes trading more interesting.

This indicates to me that you generally prefer to be a non-contributor when it comes to the roleplay environment, that interaction is only something you want to do when it's forced upon you. As Rogue put it, this is a multiplayer server. There's always OpenSP, mate.
Of course, I'd just as well point out that it's generally unwise to assume that one speaks for a certain group, as I'm quite sure I'm conveying my own personal opinion here, as you are yours. I doubt all indies are indies because they prefer to not work in a group, it very well could be that they just don't want to be a part of the official faction. Yes, those are indeed separate ideas, as I can attest from personal experience.
I'll have a hard time taking your arguments seriously until they come from an angle of how it can help the community, backed up with examples. Right now I have the feeling that the arguments come from a very narrow point of view. Then again, I doubt my argument means anything here. I just like to hear myself talk.
The players adapt to the community, not the other way around. I've always been of an opinion that if you don't like that, don't play here. I'm not telling you to get out, I'm just stating that nobody's forcing you to play things as they are.
