Also, if you want to take some of the other factions caps away, you would have to make the remaining back to vanilla stats. Why stop there? How about get rid of the wraith, guardian and all the bombers too. That way we have the Valkyrie Defender and whatever Kusari used as a HF.
In the end you would still have the best ships in pirate hands again and everyone else giving up.
You can't disregard part of disco lore and keep select portions.

this, unfortunately. igiss, as the head of the mod would never allow such a step anymore.
stefz, to your precise argument:
- it's a subjective thing. personally, i enjoy fighter fights more, since i find caps cumbersome and boring
- RP - the point of this thread was to reflect on the fact that some factions should not have capital ships, yet they do. if fighting with caps is what your heart desires, DoD is there, 24/7, waiting for you and your sparring partners. discovery server is about roleplaying. pvp within context. that's what the whole thing is about. pvp in something that your faction shouldn't have in the first place is out of context, in my opinion. again - subjective.
but nothing to do now. refer to the quote at the beginning of this post.

Why would we have to make the remaining capital ships have vanilla stats? Just balance them based on an inter-House battle. Also, I never mentioned removing Mk II ships. As you said, if we go right back to vanilla Freelancer, the pirates would have the best gear. Except for the fact that all snub ships take hours to kill, the current snub ship system is fine. I'm just worried about capital ships.
The argument that "it's too late to do anything" is really starting to irritate me. If something is flawed, why shouldn't we fix it? If it will mean a much better playing experience for the majority in the long run, then fix it! I think players should be able to accept that. This also applies to the whole "we can't get rid of Omicron Eta" thing. Besides, as Jinx said, if we raise enough hell about this, the developers will listen.

I would be happy to see some capital ships go away..
But yeah, like that gonna happen anytime soon:wacko:.
But it's still silly. For example how we have stuff in gallia. If it's a balance issue then why all of gallias unlawful factions doesn't have VHF's while GRN has Lynx? And there is only council which posses capital ship line from unlawful factions. Why?
The only problem I see here is that some stuff can't get removed because it's already there and it might cause too much chaos. But then it comes, for example, to special roleplay that it can be removed. It just doesn't make sense to me. According to what criteria stuff is being picked out and added in?
Off topic, but has anyone even seen, or heard from Igiss in last year? I have not. I think he handed the server over to Cannon. Not that that is a bad thing.
House militaries get all of their toys, because they have a house economy to back them up.
Everyone else (with the exception of the Nomads) would be left with cruisers and smaller.
On a somewhat related note: the Junkers need a gunboat.;)
Meh...I suppose it's not that terrible. In the case of pirates, they could always just take a transport and militarize it to make a cruiser. I dunno. We need some more discussion.
Also, don't the Junkers already have one? I think it's the Salvager Frigate or something.
