Alrighty. Regarding the original first post: I don't think there can be anything done about that. There are lots of independent players having capital ships. Those players, while being somewhat independent (as in not being in a player faction), still like to participate in battles with their ships.

Unfortunately they only way to limit sides fairly is to do a closed battle where no one other than registered participants are allowed.

No server limits are in place for how many differing ships you use in any battle, entirely up to you ...
Impossible to police, and if you think we have nothing better to do than sit around watching every
battle, then you have another thing coming ...
Ruddy COMMON SENSE please.

I didn't say anything about that it must be that way, I just intended to have this as a guideline for future events and when battles are being announced. It can be great fun organizing all before.

If there is a rule on limtation then the players could police thier selfs. Most sanctions in a battle are people taking screen shots of people breaking the rules. I agree Hoodlum all it will take is COMMON SENSE if people could just use some i dont see how it couldnt work.

If you are organising big RP battles, then we do not mind being involved, but not every single large
encounter that happens on the server please.
And if you are starting to spend your battle time actually looking to take others out using the rules,
then gentlemen, it is time to take a little break ...

I dont want this to be taken the wrong way. But in 1 word you say we cant watch you all the time. And then you say if we are using our battle time to catch people breaking the rules. Then take a break. Wont this mean you would have to watch every battle or the rules would no longer exist because they would be taken for granted

No it doesn't Silent, and that is fairly bent logic. Loophole logic I'll call that for now ... You will follow the rules
all the time, and if others obviously break them, I'm sure they will be reported.
Do not go into any encounter looking for people to break the rules, just going for the roleplay is the most
important part isn't it ?

Right, touch of cross purposes here I think ... Back on topic ...
The reason for an admin to be at a large battle, is not to police what ships are being used, that is up to your
tactical commanders. It should not be to make sure the rules are being followed, though occasionally it needs
it, we expect everyone to behave anyway ...
The larger battles of up to 30 or so people need the system clear, people beamed out if they don't listen,
and the server to be monitored for performance, with so many people in one spot. Big job in all, and has
been known to need two of us. Thats why we don't want to have to do every single one.
We trust you to be able to do it by yourselves ... We don't want to have to be checking ship levels as well.
No more rules please, or limits.

Guys, we need to be decreasing rules, not increasing them... there are enough questionable rules as it stands, such as the 'cool down time' rule and the circumstances in which a reingagement takes place.

I have seen many threads pointing out the myriad of rules here. Yes, I believe most if not all are still neccessary, but this is one I dont agree with.

As Hood said, how can you police this? We'd have sanctions left right and centre, which just makes it worse..
