We need more caps :cool:
They are on one side fun to fly, while on the other side rather easy targets for groups. Having fights in groups is quite some fun in most cases, so yeah. More Caps, more fun.

Corsairs obviously don't have enough caps. They all die way too fast, and then the dreaded bomber swarm comes. If they had more caps, raids would work like 90% of the time!

Capship removal is possible. It actually happened in this mod.

IMG has lost the Zephyr, and instead "only" has a cruiser now. And... it's perfectly fine not to have the biggest ship that is possible.

I personally think that Battleships should only be owned by the house militaries.
I also think that all factions should have caps, but not the biggest class (because cap-flying is fun for some of us and we play for fun).

In my opinion, there is too many caps ingame. Or more precisely too few types. Let me explain.

There is great amount of different faction. Some with great resources (such as military and police factions which are backed up by house corporation) some with good amount of resources (bounters, sairs, oc, hessies etc) and some with very limited resources (xeno, gaians etc). I haven't mentioned many factions of course but i hope that these will prove my point.

House military factions are suppoused to have all sorts of battleships. No argument there. They have both resources and manpower to keep them, but most important, they have reason to have them.

But the other factions?

I absolutely don't see reasoning behind battleships owned by other factions.
Example:
Bounters
GS, GB, Dessie, BC, BS are caps developed by bounters. I am fine with GB and GS but i disagree with having so much ships. BS are usually developed to destroy other BS and then bombard planets or something, destroying stations and so. Will bounters do such a thing? I don't think so. I understand need of dessie, few BC are ok too but whatfor is BS?

Another example:
More generally, sairs and OC have both acces to many ships. Whatfor do they need them? Or more importantly, do they need especially that battleships?

I think that every faction can make their way to small caps like GS and GB. I really like to see in every faction anti snub GS and anticap GB. That is something what everyone could achiev. Biggest disadvantage of BS is in their size and that they can operate in asteroid fields and so. Pirates tend to have hit and run behavior not overcome any house faction with ease and laugh during that. So too many factions have BS but i think that there is a line of reasoning. For every faction, this line lies elsewhere. For many it is at the GS level, for others at BS level.

Unfortunetaly, many players already has that ships. We can get rid of many BS but i think that it would be wise to replace BS with GB or GS (according to what they already have). Players with BS should get biggest ship his or her faction has to offer.

So i am not for removal but for the replacement. I think that it is better to choose between several GS/GB in pirate faction than choice between GB, cruiser, battlecruiser (if exist) and BS.

Hope that my english was good enough to explain my thoughts.

People that object to the idea of capital ships being useable by players is the same as complaining that your 20 year old car broke down and you got it checked 2 weeks ago(Hopefully, it wont be around for 20 years unless given complete over-haul). With any RP, Capital ships had far better value when it comes to actaully RPing? Gunboats and Gunships may be piloted like a Huge fighter, but Capital ships require crew and few people that own a capitol ship actaully do. Also I dont understand why people are complaining about Capital ships. On any server, even the offical Discovery RP server, capital ships are rare and rarely seen at all. From what I consider a Capital ship is a Dreadnaught and up and Cruisers and lower as support craft. The real capital ships usually stay around the shipyards of their faction or who are friendly with. And only seen at least 2 capital ships at newark every 2-3 weeks at most. They provide challenge and the means to conduct a stike where NPCs would just shoot everything in sight if the faction had a HVT they wanted to apprehend or simple raids. They play a important role in RP as the big guns when fighter squadrons cant finish the job or are inable to do so.

This version of Discovery is a war torn galaxy where factions are forced to create ships to defend their territory.
