cap ship limiting

such a discussion makes me a bit sad. people that are complaining about capship-whoring.... you got your will. capital ships are expensive now, they are fairly inefficient and more a show off, other posts say, that they are taken down easily by a pack of fighters / bombers ( right so ) - so whats the fuss about?

again, i d like to remind you of the reactions i got when i suggested to ... instead of increasing a one-time-only purchase price incrase ( which is roughly 750million now ) to increase the freaking maintenance costs ( like no more suicide, tenfold the repair costs, practily making capital ships with their millions of armor a moneysink to keep ) - everyone was yelling "omg, no, i like my capship and i don t want to pay that much " ...

so, there you are, capships are zero maintenance cost; once you have them you can fly around with them...

and i couldn t care less. but what i do care is - the new beta / version has increased the cost of capships like it was suggested by the "cap-ship-yelling" community .. and still pilots of capital ships are insulted for having them. ... can that please stop at some time?

about capship whoring... again, the majority of battles is faught in fighters. a good portion includes gunships and destroyer - but rarely there are rediculously many capital ships out. ( yes, there are times that you see some around, but if you compare the occasion to the fighter encounters, they are very few )

so, think again.... if you want to limit capships, the only way is either to remove them from the game or increase the maintenance cost so that captains of such huge ships will only want to afford to USE them when there is really a reason for that - and not for every single little encounter. ( of course they can still use them to scare the enemy off - now thats what a battleship is really best for .... )
